I guess all free agents can be viewed with a degree of suspicion. Is he any good ? Why is he available for nothing, etc., but all transfers come with a degree of doubt, and risk. Look at some of the dross The Swans paid good money for in recent seasons. Just because a player doesn't come with a huge price tag, shouldn't necessarily be a reason to dismiss him. All transfers have an element of keeping one's fingers crossed.
As well as the loan fee they are paying his salary which is rumoured to be £60k a week. That's a lot of money if true
