Rubbish Strolls......Nirvana were far better ;)

You'd be struggling to say that the Nirvana of the 80s were as good as REM...their early stuff was very raw. Nevermind was released in '91, once they'd polished their act up. Saw them twice in '92, Kings Hall Belfast and THAT gig at Reading Festival - and not many gigs I've been to since have eclipsed that.

But of course that wasn’t what was said.
‘Best to emerge from the 80’s’.......;)

Im just being my pedantic self Steels :)

Mate, when you listen to Crass, Dead Kennedy’s, RATM and Aphex Twin (to name a few)......a lot of stuff is middle of the road :)
Serious question Stainsey - I like the odd bit from these bands, and really like and admire what they stand for, would still love to see many of them live, but no way would I sit down and listen to more than one song at a time. Do you?

No judgement going on, just curious.

Funnily enough I really do....I find the harder stuff like Rage and Dead Kennedy’s get me a bit motivated for the day, especially if I’m getting ready for a run. Sounds very ‘right on’ but it gets me pumped up for what I’m gonna do.....then a bit of ‘drill’ music when I’m actually running and that’s me sorted.

Why on earth would you not listen to a whole album? Something the artist has given everything for, blood, sweat, tears, set down the tracks in a particular order (which is the reason I detest shuffle on Spotify) to complete the album. Some songs have to be listened to in an album setting, they just don't make sense as standalone tracks.

Absolutely.....prime example for me is most Hawkwind Albums. Yeah you can listen to them as stand alone tracks, however to get the full ‘journey’ they have to be played in the order the artist intended.
‘Assault and Battery’ has to be followed by ‘The Golden Void’ or it just isn’t right.
