@kosovan_footy Reports coming out of the Kosovo u21 camp is that Arbenit Xhemajli has suffered a knee injury and will not be part of the squad tonight vs Austria u21. He will also not join the A team for their 2 upcoming fixtures as was expected.
Quickly becoming a center back crisis. Assuming he's out for over a week we will go into our next game with just three eligible centre backs - Willis, Wright and Taylor. Frankly I don't think Taylor is ready. Which means (assuming we sign nobody) he will either have to with: Connor McL as 3rd centre back Luke O'Nien as 3rd centre back with Gooch or Diamond at RWB Move to 4 at the back. This would have the benefit of allowing for 2 strikers if he wants? But I'd worry about Hume without cover.
If Bailey Wright gets injured (which is a distinct possibility given his record) this season could unravel pretty quickly. Especially with the lack of goals up top and a couple of dodgy keepers between the sticks. A back 3 of willis, Onien, mclaughlin with gooch rwb? Not good.
It might not be as bad as it sounds. Even if it's something minor the coach wouldn't count on him for the other games. He should really come back to the club for medical treatment now.
Phil isn’t going to play him anyway. He has form for singing players he’s never given a fair chance to.
I thought O/9 played well in covering for Flanagan and Hume looks fine left or right and Gooch, Diamond or Taylor can slot into a full back position, so we should be OK , not ideal though, and any more dropping out could be a problem, unless as already suggested we went back to a back four. OaU.
A ****ing injury whilst away with on International duty.....it's ****ing ridiculous. Willis already has a knee problem and we know Wright is vulnerable.
Should only be a 1 match ban too as it was for a professional foul. O'Nien did well at the back midweek apparently (didn't see the whole game). The other young lad struggled - their second goal the lad had the freedom of Sunderland on our right of central defence (if you know what I mean!!)
Shouldn't be playing internationals in the current climate imo ffs. Especially when clubs are struggling. Fookin ridiculous.
Shouldn't be playing internationals........at all! Spinning TV money to the corrupt bastards at FIFA and UEFA is all it does. That we purchase and pay these players only to see them get injured on some no account ego trip playing for someone else is ****ing madness.
I had a premonition about us picking up an injury this break. I hate these weekends normal seasons, during this crisis its total madness.
I hate these weekends cos we don't got a match to agonize through, to then get injuries on top of that is adding insult to injury so to speak.
