With respect Fin, I have spoken to many, many people who cannot get to see a GP.......in fact I would say while at work, i hear it daily. Adding to the fact that many routine appointments and operations have been cancelled, I would say 9’s point is valid

Thats fair enough Staines, you know whats happening over there. I am sure similar things are possibly happening here too. I had to have a colonoscopy recently and I got the appointment within a month of going to my GP. I expected to wait at least a year so some things are happening when it comes to cancer treatments.

Mate honestly, over here it is a different case altogether....and the sad fact of the matter is that people are dying because of it.

OK that's fair enough. Another reason why Bojo has done a dreadful job if loads are dying of the virus (40k+++) and loads are dying because of lack of healthcare in other areas. Thankfully, I haven't seen any evidence of that happening on a large scale over here........yet.

Fair play to your mum, my Dad’s the same, turned 82 yesterday, fit as a fiddle.

I think our parents should then make informed decisions about how they choose to live their lives. They may not even be particularly vulnerable, depending on the condition of their health.

The proportion of society who are at serious risk of dying from Covid is very small. We live with largely comparable viruses every year, we get ill sometimes, we mainly recover, sometimes, sadly people don’t. This is not a particularly unusual event, certainly not so dangerous as to necessitate the destruction of entire national economies, thousands of businesses and to deny thousands of people the healthcare that they are entitled to and that may save their lives.

The response has been wholly out of proportion to the scale of the problem. We know that now, maybe we didn’t before.

That misrepresents what nines said I think, and I know you don’t like misrepresentation. The ‘hoax’ is the issue of cases and the test. Did you watch his video?

The First global pandemic since 1918 is not a particularly unusual event? Well, it is very unusual in my lifetime. The last global pandemic, infected one third of the world's population and killed between 50-100 million people. They had no restriction's in place and even continued a world war.

To me, thrashing the world economy for a few years is worth saving possibly tens of millions of lives. Economies will recover within a few years.

Not particularly unusual in terms of numbers of people affected by a viral infection. It’s not the threat to the global population that the governments and most media outlets have tried to programme people to believe, incessantly, for over 6 months.

There is no evidence to suggest that this virus could kill tens of millions of lives.

Have you heard people like Carl Hennigan, Sunetra Gupta, Sucharit Bhakdi, Mike Yeadon, Ivor Cummins? These are leaders in their fields and strongly challenge the narrative.

    Nines keeps contradicting himself.
He said "it's all a hoax" and then said the virus is real.
He also incorrectly said that it's been around for 10 years.
Coronavirus, in different forms has, covid 19 hasn't.
    I haven't mis-represented anything.

I agree that there are questions about all of this, but the bottom line for me is that I don't want to get the ****er.

Staines, Sars only spread from China to 26 other countries so strictly speaking, it wasn't a worldwide pandemic. HIV/Aids was a worldwide pandemic strictly speaking but it only spread by exchanging bodily fluids or by blood transfusions. The general public was/still is not at risk of infection provided you don't exchange bodily fluids with an infected person. Covid is completely different and is much more infectious to the general public going about their daily lives.

Woody, you say it is not the threat to the global popultion that governments and media outlets would have us believe.

What if, we lift all restrictions worldwide. We all go back to our daily lives pre-covid. I go to see QPR play 5 times between now and Christmas. 18,000 packed into Loftus Road and every other football ground. You go on your holidays to Majorca or wherever. By the end of Winter, there would be tens of millions of dead people. I can't quantify it but the possibility is there for there to be hundreds of millions of people dead worldwide. None of those hundreds of millions (potentially) will be able to go down their local boozer for a few pints.

I haven't heard of any of the people you mention and to be honest, I am not interested in what they might or might not say on this subject.

THE RESTRICTIONS ARE IN PLACE TO PROTECT EVERYBODY'S HEALTH.

What are you basing your prediction of a potential tens or hundreds of thousands of deaths on?

The people I listed are a very few of a large and growing voice amongst very eminently qualified scientists, doctors, epidemiologists, virologists, professors of very high standing, who have held top positions at leading institutions around the world.

Why would you not be interested in what they have to say, when it has kept you from the life you want to live for 7 months?

Again, I think he implies the hoax is the counting of deaths, the use of the term cases and the increase in testing, and the validity of the test used to shape the situation.

Lift the restrictions worldwide and lets see how many people die.

Worldwide governments have access to the best experts in the world and with the exception of Sweden and some of Trump's supporters, the overwhelming verdict is to impose restrictions to save lives. I agree with that theory and I am sure the vast majority of people do even if it stops us doing what we want to do. Protests to date by people who disagree have been tiny.

Sorry mate, it was just my pedantic nature. I still stand by my statement that this isn’t the first pandemic since 1918.

It is the first worldwide pandemic in Western Europe that affects the general public as they go about their daily lives. The last such pandemic killed 50-100 million people.

I think you should search some of the people I listed above, research their backgrounds and qualifications and listen to what they say. There is very little balance offered by the bbc/sky etc. You cannot be fully informed by listening to them alone.
