We have been in lanzarote for the last 8 Christmas periods. Going to be strange this year but we are still having a big family do at the in laws. Nobody and I mean nobody can tell me if I can see my family or not.

We’re all getting Christmas off which definitely won’t cause people to **** any rules they’re still sticking to by then off for the whole holiday period.

Bob, I hope you have a fab Christmas and see all your family... but at the moment we are limited to 6 (which Starmer has agreed with). When people break this rule who shall we blame? The government or the public for not abiding by the rules? This is my point about agreeing in politics. Personally I think there will be an uproar if families can't get together at Christmas.

Dare I suggest you’re looking to deflect a bit from the Prime Minister being made to look like a useless **** who doesn’t know the details of his own policies, again?
No, I keep saying this is a live situation that is changing daily. The PM has many things to oversee. He is only human and if he forgets a number or rule then so be it. It happens in all walks of life.
just on PMQs... it should be open season for Starmer but he still isn't convincing people. Even in the polls according to you, this is the worst government ever... yet Starmer is just ahead in like 2-3 polls... He should be 20 points ahead if he was a credible option.

Yeah it’s a shame he can’t oversee any of them competently and ****ed off anyone experienced who might be able to help for a load of careerists.

Feels like you’ve plucked a number out the air there for a change. His party got barely 30% of the vote in an election in December. To have closed that gap and more this early into a term is highly unusual. There’s not a lot to be gained by being loutish about it as this government would be if the roles were reversed.

In my opinion (and Starmer highlighted this) the rules and restrictions are not having any effect anyway. Mix in 16000 people with positive tests still going around as normal, up until they were told then it all becomes pretty pointless.

I also forgot to say that, yes I have been moaning about his silence but also said when he finally opens his mouth people will see. Today he did something stupid... especially when he was doing quite well in PMQs.

He was setting Johnson up today. He said he supported the rule of 6 because there is (allegedly) some scientific basis for it. He then asked Johnson what the science was behind the 10pm curfew, knowing that there isn't any and Johnson couldn't answer (as if he ever can). Labour will now join the Tory rebels and the government will likely be defeated on the curfew.

I don't believe Starmer knew what Boris was going to come back with? he was stuttering after he said it. You never agree with the opposition like that. Boris forced him into giving an answer. I know you like Labour Stroller but today Starmer made a mistake.
Anyway we will see in the coming weeks.

Wills you know that I am beginning to like you as a good intelligent poster. Actually it's a breath of fresh air reading some of your posts (even though I don't agree with some) compared to some of the numpty rubbish that is spouted each day form 1 or 2 on here. <cheers>
My next challenge is to work out how to get rid of this predictive text cr2p as it keeps changing stuff that I write.

**** me you come out with some absolute drivel.
At least Wills ain’t on your ‘grass list’ anymore.....best me and Bob watch out then :)

Do you think Muslims should be able to gather for Eid ? Asking for a friend.

As I’m still on ignore from him, could someone ask Ellers this question please

The Murdochisation of the BBC gathers pace with a piece on Newsnight tonight about how the Beeb will be broadcasting MMR this weekend.

Cambridge Analytica Cleared of Misusing Data in Referendum

The Information Commission has finally concluded its 3 year investigation into Cambridge Analytica. Its comprehensive report, shared with the Digital, Culture and Media and Sport Select Committee, will not make happy reading for the Carole Cadwalladrs of this world. The investigation reviewed 42 laptops and computers, 700 TB of data, 31 servers, over 300,000 documents, and a wide range of material in paper form and from cloud storage devices. Guido brings you some select findings…

On whether SCL Elections Ltd and Cambridge Analytica were involved in the referendum campaign:

“From my review of the materials recovered by the investigation I have found no further evidence to change my earlier view that SCL/CA were not involved in the EU referendum campaign in the UK”

On data practices of organisations on both sides of the EU referendum campaign:

“I identified no significant breaches of the privacy and electronic marketing regulations and data protection legislation that met the threshold for formal regulatory action.”

On Evidence of Russian involvement:

“We did not find any additional evidence of Russian involvement in our analysis of material contained in the SCL / CA servers we obtained.”

The report does highlight dodgy data practices from Cambridge Analytica, with the Commissioner writing “I have also confirmed my previous understanding about the poor data practices at the company, which, had they sought to continue trading, would likely have attracted further regulatory action against them by my office.” It’s clear Cambridge Analytica were shysters.Yet not ones who changed the outcome of the Brexit referendum. Guido can’t wait for Carole’s climbdown…
