Like most Clubs we are both a buying and selling Club. To be successful we need to increase their value by continuing their development. If we can develop youngsters without bringing them in on big costs all the better, but we'll do very well to do many like Eze, we'll do well to do a Furlong the younger or 2.
This chap looks like he might be somewhere between the first team and the U23s. Two strikers isn't huge depth. I also wonder if they are hoping to pick up a freebie at the back towards the end of the window if Manning goes. As much as we all have question marks about it, I think MW is set on Dickie and Barbet as his first choice CB pair for this year.
I think we needed a back up striker, when we only have 2 qualified ones, and especially if Warburton wants to play 2 up front some of the time at least. I guess they may want Oteh to go on a recallable loan again. Kelman looks like a good prospect. They must be keeping the new CD well wrapped up....
What has surprised me is how vocal the new signings have been about the development and ultimately the move to the Premier league by Eze. They have all said they see QPR as a place to evolve into better players and progress. I honestly didn't know this would have such an influence. All we need to do now is make sure BOS has a better season and the Premier league comes knocking with deep pockets, who knows what youngsters we will attract. Future is looking bright, no pun intended.
Kelman is a youngster.... If we get him it is one for the future ..but a decent short term back up if we need this year. We are also in ( alledgedly) for Mowsam from Barnsley... You cannot complain that the board are not splashing the cash.. If we got about 16 million in cash ( probably over 3 years) for Eze...the add-ons don't count yet. They have/going to spend about 8-10 million of that ( also probably over 3 years too)
Bright Samuel top of the list of Championship players who might be of interest to PL teams before the window finally closes according to The Times. Available for £5m.
Where do you get that 8-10m figure from, Beth? Dykes won't have been more than £1.5m (add ons making it up to the reported £2.5m) and Bonne won't be more than £1m plus add ons. Willock a reported £750k, Amos / Thomas I can't remember. Guesswork on my part, hands up, but I wouldn't believe the reported figures from other clubs who all want to inflate figures for their fans, much as we do! The fees are all undisclosed so no one can properly know but I suspect we've not spent more than £5m, which will be spread over time.
I have dykes 1.5 ( rising) Dickie 1.5 million ( rising) Bonne 1.5 ( rising) Willock 0.75 Amos 1 million Thomas free Adomah free Carroll free. About 6 -7 million (...and how much more in salary?) Add into that Kelman and possibly Mawson.. both will be a fee. Not sure 8 million is far off.
I seem to remember that it was rumoured we paid a £1 million for Amos, but that Thomas was a free - out of contract. We also paid for Dickie, £ 1.5 million rumoured? So if these are all correct, doubtful as you say, we have a total cost of about £7.75 million in transfer fees already, and probably not done yet. I included the £2 million Charlton fans reckon they are getting for Bonne.
I'd completely forgotten Dickie! Oops. I'd guess at 500k off both the up front Bonne and Amos fees, but yes, would guess at around 6 (so far) with Dickie included. Spread over three years at £2m a pop it's not a huge investment, which I mean as a compliment not a criticism. Especially as you'd hope at least one of them will go for more than we got them for in a few years. Wages is the question, but we seem to have a firm line on that now so I'm guessing we've not blown the bank there either. Edit - thinking about wages gone out - Eze, Leistner, Hall, Rangel, Pugh, Hugill, Wells, we might actually have saved money there!
There is speculation in the click bate press that Cardiff, Boro and ourselves are interested in him, based probably only on him not having signed a new contract yet allegedly.
Probably a step too far for us, looking at what we’ve spent already. Shame though, I’d like to have seen him here giving our midfield a bit of bite and attack.
