Interesting review of Chris Willock from Huddersfield fan.

Seems a mixed bag, with plenty of potential. Can’t help but feel that Chris Ramsey will have a major role in moulding him.
Hope he can pull it together and terrorise a few defenders, as he seems capable of, and keep himself in the mix for the full game.

I thought that was a fair honest and well written opinion based what he had seen which is an unfinished story, hopefully we can give it a happy ending.
I know Eze was a lot younger but this article could have been used to describe Eze when he was released by Millwall?
Ramsey get your polisher out!

Interesting read, thanks for posting. By the sounds of it if we can get the best out of him, he'll be great, but that may be a big 'if'. The encouraging sign for me is that he is only 22...so plenty of time to improve. As Albert eluded to in his interview, part of his role will be to encourage and teach the younger players in the squad, and so could be potential for a useful mentor role for Albert with Willock...which could be beneficial both on and off the pitch. Here's hoping.

By all accounts, Warburton seems to not entertain any mucking about from players. They're either in or they can piss off. Hopefully this was all discussed before signing and he knows what's expected of him.

I'm very pleased with our transfer business this year. I think the scouting department and management deserve a pat on the back for the talent they have found and the deals they have struck. Credit, too, must go to the owners for being prepared to spend some of the Eze money rather than taking the understandable option of banking it to cover the losses arising from the Covid restrictions.

Of course, nothing is guaranteed with transfers, no matter how much you pay, and we have a modest transfer budget. Nevertheless, we have brought in a number of players who are (generally) young, have an encouraging pedigree and have the potential to do a job for us. Despite my past reservations about Amos and Carroll, I think their potential is also worth a punt.

Hopefully, our coaching set up will help the younger ones to improve and to increase their transfer value. I think there is reason for optimism on that score.

I am happy with the two signings, but desperately want to see a commanding defender or two added.

We have to stop giving away soft goals and become a defensive force especially at set pieces. Unfortunately, we can't rely on outscoring our opponents if we leak too many goals.

Warburton needs to recognise this deficiency that many fans have already recognised. He needs to get his finger out and concentrate to stop conceding goals, this will also relieve some of the pressure on our forwards. If he needs a defensive coach, get one as a priority please.
I would like fo see a commanding central defender and possibly a LB if possible added before the close as well. There looks to me to be many advantages in playing 3 5 2, but believe we only have 3 recognised CB's, leaving aside Kakay, Cameron, and Wallace who are being used in other positions where, arguably, they are better. We need a new and qualified CB as cover to play 3 or 4 at the back. Whether we need a LB or not is rather dependent on whether Niko is good enough there or not, the little I've seen of him he's played more as a wing back or left side of midfield.

Chair cant play the wing position like Eze did. He is though, when on form, one of my favourite players. I can see a fair bit of tinkering with formations and positions over the next couple of months. Something that may not end well for us, but with the amount of games heading our way, it is understandable.

We don't really know yet where Warburton plans to use Willock. I hope he is good and creative enough to play in attacking midfield. If he does I think Chair may do better moved further back into more of an Ale role linking balls coming out of defence with the forwards. He maybe competing with Carroll for a starting place there.

He's certainly got his feet under the table...<laugh>

Albie is certainly PR conscious, good for him.

I think the match on Saturday away to Bournemouth is a really good test. Few days to bed the new blokes in, then Warbles has some choices to make.

I hope he, or someone, works out what is wrong with our defence.

Forest appoint Chris Hughton as manager with the ex barely out the door...

Being canned after only 4 games is a bit harsh, particularly as they narrowly missed the play-offs last term. Good manager, Hughton, though. I’d take him for the Rs if we were in the market.

They lost 7 or so games post lockdown and 4 this season so no real surprise he's gone.....

Hopefully, Adomah is the perfect aligning of the stars for us. I never thought for one minute that this calibre of player would ever sign for us in our current predicament. I think that it's a combination of Forest ( How much money have they got? ) paying him off and our offering of low wages and his desire to play here that has allowed this. I'm wishful for a Paul Furlong type fairytale.

For Willock to join us after playing for Arsenal and Benfica is surprising. He could've stayed at Benfica who are a great club and just sit there and pick up his wages for training sounds promising. Even if it means him using us as a stepping stone to go onto greater things. I hope he does well.

I think the likes of Willock will have seen the effort the club has put into developing Eze and BOS, giving them plenty of game time - and crucially that we've been willing to let them go to bigger clubs for the right price. That last bit is key and we have to remember that when we sell our next decent player for profit, enabling the virtuous circle to continue. Not always fun being a selling club, but it's our only hope of being sustainably good.
