As with Lewis, I think this is a good deal for all concerned. Ben gets a 5 year contract with a good club, Everton get a player with a good future and we get a £30m deal with which to strengthen the squad over time. Gibson's performance reassures me that we have a ready made replacement who is left footed and well experienced. Suddenly we no longer have a back line where 3 out of four are promising youngsters. Once again, SW seems to have been ahead of the game here.

I'm not sure that's the case, but it's really confusing, so you might be right.

If we want to move them on and no one comes in for them, what does that say about them.
 
Drmic is on high wages so that would put people off, the two Germans were integral to the team at one point strange that Farke wants rid .

<laugh> But I presume they've already pocketed a tidy sum from the sale of Ollie Watkins to Villa. He was a product of the Exeter academy, and played for Exeter City before his move to Brentford.

Someone posted that if McClean is so highly rated by DF, why has there been no interest from other teams wanting to sign him ? I would suggest that having just signed a new contract, he is clearly not for sale. . On the other hand , the 3 that were made surplus to requirement and whose agents have no doubt been busy trying to get them lucrative moves. no interest whatsoever ! I know it might sound controversial to one or two posters, but maybe DF has got it right .

We have been linked with that young Liverpool defender a couple of time in this window. Can't remember his name, but I believe he is 19 years old. I have no knowledge of him or his capabilities so I would like to be enlightened if anyone knows about him.
 
I've also read the £50k p/w figure for Drmic in the past, not sure where it came from. Pretty sure he was our highest earner last season, and suspect that's still the case. Believe he was no different to anyone else though and had a substantial wage cut upon relegation, but that probably leaves him on £25k +.

Not against Klose leaving, but he definitely needs replacing. We can't go into this season with just Zimmerman, Hanley and Gibson.

Seen us linked with Matty Longstaff and Owen Bailey of Newcastle, but neither are CBs.

Yasser Larouchi. He is a left back, so I presume he was seen as back up to Quintilla with Lewis's departure and McCallum being sent out on loan. Latest rumour is that Leeds want him.
