If the deal goes goes through then that's an enormous profit from what we paid Exeter but with every sale of our young Internationals we are weakening our team
    .
Quintilla on loan looks to be a good replacement for Lewis Gibson on loan will replace Godfrey , not sure we have adequate cover to replace Cantwell Buendia and Aarons.
Those 5 are practically half our first 11.
If Webber can bring tens of millions then that's fantastic but if we are considerably weaker as a team and struggling in the league I'm not so sure the fans will feel very happy .
On the flip side we look to be selling 3 of the Premier League's worst performing defenders for over £70m combined.

I still have faith in the club to know what they are doing and we know Delia isn't going to trouser the money it will go into the club coffers but there are only so many rabbits we can pull from hats and a fine balance is needed with keeping the best players and turning a profit.

That the players were good enough but were very poorly managed.

That young British Internationals are extremely sought-after in the Premier League to make home grown quotas and you can't play 3 kids in defence at the same time without tremendous help and leadership from an experienced head in there alongside them .
Zimmermann and Klose missed most of the season and played with injuries .

Disagree. Lewis, who is a good player, is starting for Newcastle because they're short of LBs. Quintilla looks to be a great replacement so far and we're said to be interested in a promising 19 year old LB from ManUtd. Godfrey also has excellent potential, but will probably be on the bench for some time at Everton. Like the others, their primary value lies in their potential rather than being PL ready now. We got Godfrey from York for £150k and they have a 10% sell on clause, but £22.5m plus £6m in add ons is still an amazing amount of money to secure the club's future and in Gibson, we have a PL quality defender ready to come in. He's also the left footed CB we've lacked for years and that will make a big difference. Hanley is fit again and back in training. IMO, our defence will be stronger this season.

    This from Hucks:

"Another good deal for Norwich City
and great move for Ben Godfrey, a great professional and still got the potential to get better. Everton are a proper club with an excellent manager - quality place for Ben to continue his Premier League development."

I never saw Lewis as a starting 11 player when Byram was fit, although if we kept him at some point I think that would have changed.

For me Aarons is a starting 11 player, but he's far from the finished article, like Lewis, I think his crossing and decision making are key areas of improvement.

Cantwell for me is over hyped and he certainly wouldn't be anywhere near the first name on the team sheet for me. I think either Cantwell or Buendia would have been in the starting 11, but not both. Both are creative and when on their game are a handful, but equally both have significant weaknesses.

Godfrey for me was our best young player with the most potential and I'm disappointed to see him go, but 25m + 5m add ons for me is a really good price in the current market.

We sold Maddison for a good price and used that money wisely. Financially I think we are more secure than we've ever been. We now need to do the same with the same with the Godfrey money. I would like to see money invested it a new stand as well as Academy / developing players.

Aarons, Lewis, Buendia, Cantwell and Godfrey shone in our promotion winning season. So for me I'm more concerned about which players are going to be our next to be our Maddison's, Lewis's & Godfrey's of the future than I am about them being sold.

The next most likely lads are Idah, Josh Martin and Akin Famewo.

Has Cantwell finally signed for Leeds? Can’t find anything to suggest he has, but then some websites are crammed with information of transfers at the moment so may have missed it. If he has then we could be looking at approx. £60m with the sale of 3 players. Having read posts about new stand at CR is there a plan to increase the capacity or upgrade existing facilities?

If we are not allowed fans we may as well get the builders in and add a few thousand seats .

Could also do a Virtual Reality match day experience with the South Stand put 100s of cameras up the top and you can put a fake crowd there and be watching it with goggles

Maybe you're still stuck in the system. Anybody heard of anyone we might get in? All I hear are outgoings currently

Exeter? Are you really a Canary DD? Recruited from YORK in 2016 for an initial £150k. They now stand to make £2.5m from this sale, which is an amazing amount for a club in their position.

I don't think remembering where we poached our young players for the academy is a prerequisite of supporting your club ?

    Where did we sign
    William Hondermarck ? <smooch>
