Well **** me. Just when you thought it couldn't get worse, here's actual quotes from Bruce talking to Sky Sports' Keith Downie.

"Does it feel like I can’t win? Sometimes. The nature of the job is to get criticised and I accept it. But every manager needs time, even Jurgen Klopp did.

It’s still work in progress – I know that sounds easy for me to say but that’s what it is. Let’s not dissect it the way we are.

Not that I needed to, but the bits in bold are an astonishing lack of awareness. This is frightening.

So last season he took all the plaudits for getting results using someone else's system, but now he needs time because what he's doing is an absolute mess.



1. We get a result and its Bruce that's doing well
2. We don't play well and it's not Bruce's fault he's changing the system

Firstly he doesn't have the players and secondly 4 4 2 is redundant for a reason..

Jesus christ I guess we can forget the 4 2 3 1 that he's got the players for at least and a actually looked functional vs Sheff United and Bournemouth last season....

Where's he going to put almiron, max and Fraser? He can't play them all in a 4 4 2, so It means leaving one of our only good players on the bench every week ffs... We can't afford to be doing that???

I've tried to play one off the front and I've done that in six of the seven games this season to try and go away from the back five, defending deep and playing on the counter-attack.

"I grant you that we haven't been as stylish as we would have liked. We were stylish against Morecambe, we were stylish against West Ham.

"We had 27 attempts the other day. That is what we're trying to achieve. That's what we're trying to put into place and I would think that would be pretty obvious if you were balanced on it."

Now I'm lucky, am I? Lucky? Wow. I just find it frustrating and deeply disappointing because this thing of direction or a lack of tactics...what do you not understand?

But we've played with one up and one off the front and a back four now in six of the seven games and we did it out of lockdown as well apart from the last two or three games when we went to a back three against Tottenham and Liverpool. What do we not understand?

"So I'm going to question you lot to say: 'Do you not understand what we're trying to do?' You can tell the supporters and explain to them. I find it the frustrating part. Where has that come from all of a sudden?"

Im not even trying to be mean, but that’s just utter ****ing gibberish. The 27 shots was vs league 2 Newport. He still just cannot give a direct answer to the question, because I genuinely don’t think he gets it.

He's certainly coming out fighting, but until the side creates chances vs a premiership club he's got to accept criticism. The thing I've noticed about Bruce is that he starts of saying he understands he'll get criticism, [HASHTAG]#but[/HASHTAG]... Everything is but but.... Another one is I don't make excuses, but... It's getting boring now. Ffs just stfu Bruce and start mouthing off when you've got the side playing this [HASHTAG]#style[/HASHTAG] you claim you're working towards! Not before it isn't making you look better... Get a performance tomorrow then pipe up

Bur for Mike Ashley, Steve Bruce would never ever be near the Newcastle managers job. 14 ****ing years of this ****ing **** we’ve put up with. I’m not a violent man but Ashley should get a solid ****ing pounding for what he did to our lives.

Bruce is lucky fans aren't in the ground giving him the abuse he deserves. The ****. I hope Burnley beat us.

I only want us to win because a relegated Newcastle can’t and won’t be sold. New owners will be under no illusion. Even Bruce knows - and I’m astonished by how well informed he is of people’s feelings towards him. He’s far too soft for this game.

This I hope we stay up just in hope the takeover goes through, then Bruce will get sacked anyway.. I'd rather Bruce do well and then get sacked...

If you’re really trying to change you do it right at the start and deal with early pain for long term gain. All Bruce did was put Willems on out of position, then create chaos by being unclear. It’s not really improved much since.

If this seasons “tactics” of 4-4-2 is the answer then I’m not sure I want to know what the ****ing question is.
