@Geordieginola

It's just such a dim whitted approach to simply look at the fact we don't score goals and jump straight to the conclusion that replacing a striker is whats required to fix it.. The problem is so much deeper than that... Two proper cms are required, not also some bloody good coaches and a manager more importantly.
Absolutely bang on. We have two very ordinary cm players who are very static. With a coach who can’t really motivate a piss up in a brewery.

West Brom today where a breathe of fresh air and I know they didn’t win. But Jesus they throw every effort into it. Chelsea spent 250m and already had a billion pound squad and that’s what ultimately came undone for wb. But it just shows you if you have a go. You might get rewards.

Nufc playing hoofball tomorrow or just one player dribbling from their own box to the opposition half until it breaks down and then comes the next wave, after wave after wave.. Son will tear them new arsehole and kane will have fun too..

For once I hope Ashley sees the light and buys a cm.

Not having a go at Bruce, but I've just watched the pre match presser and once again I couldn't help noticing how much he purs over the opposition.. In this particular one he talks about the top 6 having great players and that's why he loves the premier league. I would think it more beneficial to talk about how good we are and what we can do.. It just doesn't sit right with me. I get you can compliment your opponent, but it's OTT with Bruce imo.. He should be telling the player and the media know this is newcastle united and the instructions are win whoever we play... OK that might seem unrealistic, but if that's not the message then its not a good one.
You do realise it's a press conference, not a pre-match game team talk. No manager goes into those telling the opposition manager how he's going to set up and what he is going to try to do.

It doesnt matter my point is that I've noticed this vibe he gives off. He's in too much ore of the other clubs. I don't like it that's all. I'd be very surprised if he's bright enough to be rallying troops and filling them with confidence behind this public smokescreen of defeatest thoughts, but yes I take your point.

Its psychology 101. Build up the opposition in public to lull them into a false sense of security and take the pressure off your own players, then use that same argument to motivate your own players during the team talks and preparation.

Does Bruce seem like the type of guy to be using psychology tactics?

I think he's just a nice bloke

Well that's not true
Probably a bit of an exaggeration but have you actually heard any managers get up at a press conference and say - we should stuff this lot. They big up the opposition, warn about guarding against complacency, say there are no easy games at this level. Its partly to cover their own arses and to take the pressure off their own players.

Spurs are set up to score on the break. Kane drops back to midfield pulling centre backs with him and he then releases a lot of clever balls over the top for Son to run on to.

This definitely isnt the game to play a high pressing game which is good because we dont know how to. I would definitely play 5 at back and a midfield full of running.

my point was that it's ott with bruve.. I stand by bit.. he's always as it even outside of pressers and I rarely hear him saying much about how great this club is or the players.. it's an observation I've made over his tenure... oh you know how it us up here blah blah blah.. I don't like it

I hope he gets a response this week...

As I suspected he's gone 4 4 2 with Hendrick on the right
