Okay so hes not the big name we want up front. Hes not going to score loads of goals and hes not going to be with us very long.

Hes been brought in as cover for our injured/absent strikers and to provide 'something different' from the bench. However when i look at it i see it as a bit of a clever choice which (if the decision comes from AP) i think bodes well for the future.

Why is it clever? Well. You have a guy here who is 34, with a lot of expereince in the game in this country. Hes no Andy Carroll and is at the end of his career, a career that until today he probably thought was over....and thats the clever bit. Its the guys swan song. Shefki Kuqi is under zero pressure, he knows hes there as cover and he knows his time as a pro footballer is drawing to the end. Hes fully fit with nothing to lose. A bit of a clever choice for me. Allidere and 'Everton' may have come with a bit of attitude and under pressure to try and win a contract. This guy will just do the job hes been brought in for with no complaints and then retire...probably.

I may have taken on the mentality of a Sunderland fan but i am strangely excited by the signing of the Kuqi monster. Reminds me of the Sibierski deal.

Super Super Sib.

Sorry TheMightyToon but you've made a spelling mistake i think you'll find 'sunderland' is spelt with a lower-case 's'. Please dont let it happen again. :)

I wonder how well him and Ranger would work upfront? Ranger scares defenders enough, but having the bull II up there as well will give us plenty of strength to hassle defenders with, then Ranger's pace and both players ability to miss open goals... (jk) From his actual goals scored he looks like a decent target man with a good finish when it works.

Well the team already know how to play with a big target man, so that's a plus. Just have to alter the game slightly so Ranger or Best or even Lover is the runner rather than Kuqi just winning it like Carroll did. So the adjustment wont be too hard and could give us an alternate plan if we're struggling during a match.

I think we are gonna end up loving him by the end of the season. He'll work his socks off in his last chance at Premier League football and as previously stated, no one is expecting ANYTHING from him, which means he's going score against Blackburn at the weekend.

KUQI!

I too am strangely excited, hopefully if he does play he gets a couple of goals or assists. i can see him becoming a cult hero ala Sibierski. In fact I might even get 42 Kuqi on the back of my shirt just for the banter.

All I can say is: why not?

He's free, he's experienced, he can score, he can fly, he has a strange name, he was at swansea (Where all class players are..) I mean come on! It's perfect! :1980_boogie_down:

Personally i think he looks like a semi professional boxer from some post communist state that you'd likely find working as a doorman.

too stupid to turn pro but a bit of a hard nut, like a journeyman boxer.

I think the Ewerton deal was the wrong option to pursue as he'd take a while to acclimatise to the English game; never having played here before.

Alialialiadiere is just ****.

Welcome Kuqi.
