Looks like there won't be fans in te stadium for a while

Michael Gove has also confirmed this morning that plans for fans to return to stadiums to watch live sport in England from 1 October will be "paused".

The plans were placed under review earlier this month after a rise in coronavirus cases, with pilot events restricted to 1,000 people.

"We were looking at a staged programme of more people returning - it wasn't going to be the case that we were going to have stadiums thronged with fans," the Cabinet Office minister said.

"We're looking at how we can, for the moment, pause that programme, but what we do want to do is to make sure that, as and when circumstances allow, we get more people back.

"The virus is less likely to spread outdoors than indoors but again it's in the nature of major sporting events that there's a lot of mingling."

The rest of us might as well cancel our memberships then as no likely hood of anything meaningful returning before spring, at some point the question needs to be asked is the poison worse than the cure, for me thoose that are vulnerable should be shielded the rest of us should be allowed to crack on and make our own choices.

Guessing your just going to ignore everyone's requests to shed some light on the speculation and give us some facts
You're showing little or no compassion here HowdenTiger2? The man has been through a traumatic period in his life after being abducted by aliens yesterday!!

Yours sincerely

Pubs, restaurants can stay open to 10pm every night (assuming I've read that right) but a thousand people in stadiums holding say 25k, can't gather. Maybe, I'm not the sharpish implement in the box, but I'm struggling with that.

Not speculation, it’s fact, read the link, it was announced this morning

What has that announcement got to do with the events why Saturday couldn't go ahead? And that doesn't cover any of the points I put to you. Hiding behind an announcement that happened almost a week after Hull CC decided to deny the opportunity for fans back into the ground is piss poor! If it was announced today that fans could still be allowed in Oct, would you admit you/hull cc made the wrong call?

And if you do, how does the club survive?

I am struggling with the fact that last week I went to the pub about 8.30 pm and left about 11pm. Next week that will be deemed unsafe but if I go in at 7.30 pm and left at 10 pm having drunk the same and being in a room with the same people in it and I will be safe.
Being on the extremely vulnerable list I will have to continue risking it in case I am told I need to isolate again. Might have to start using cannabis to combat the mental issues this might cause.

Other clubs have people buying season tickets paid for in many cases upfront.

By shielded do you mean isolated to let younger folk get passed, lie about in parks and beaches as though nothing is happening. Reality is going to bite soon, especially when furlough ends. Only public sector workers will be safe. And pensioners like me who are lucky because their income won't go down.

I’m not public sector & we’ve never been busier.

I think the sole purpose of this 10pm guidance is to deter the younger generation from venturing out at the weekend. Most of them don't start heading out until 10.

It's a shame it's had to come to this, but I think the young uns are being targeted and sadly, all tarred with the one brush as covid spreaders?
