Ok deaths per 100,000 in U.K. from COVID 62.29

Last year deaths per 100,000 in U.K. in over 65s from Influenza 254.09 (And that’s with a vaccine)

Of course 1 death is a tragedy, however these are simple statistics.

As you probably will with COVID.........

However 259 people out of 100, 000 who had Influenza in the U.K. didn’t feel like **** and fully recover...they died.

    This is pointless.
Did you hear about Steel's missus?
What about the thousands of others that have similar tales to tell?

Are you saying everything should return to normal right now?

But it’s not pointless, Col. It’s plain statistical information and seriously puts into question the disproportionate events that are taking place right now.

What I’m saying is that, imho, the restrictions we have in place and have had in place are truly OTT for what this virus is.
Now we can agree or disagree.....however we are all entitled to an opinion, I’ll carry on wearing a mask when in a shop out of respect to people like yourselves, however I claim the right to think it’s ****ing stupid. As I think many rules are stupid but out of respect, I’ll keep to them (except 1 way aisles in supermarkets ;) )

Trust me, if you could see what my missus is going through at the moment you wouldn't want to catch this thing

Mate you know that I honestly and truly sympathise with all my heart for your Mrs, and I do mean that.

However, that’s not what I’m saying as many hundreds of thousands of people won’t be effected like this. The absolute vast majority will recover fully, that of course is if they have any symptoms whatsoever.

I’m not being emotive, I’m just stating pure facts and statistics.

Do you dismiss all the warnings from eminent medical experts then?
Do you dismiss what's happening to Steel's missus?
I agree that the risk is relatively low, but as I'm the wrong end of my fifties I'm playing it safe, without going over the top.

Not sure what the guys I quoted today have to gain by misleading us.

I really hope you're right mate and that we don't start seeing the death rates of June and July.

With respect Col, you’re being emotive and trying to put words in my mouth.
I have already told you my opinion in my previous posts and I haven’t ‘dismissed’ anything.

Those are two different measures Stainsey, whole population v over 65s. What is the COVID death rate per 100k for the over 65s?

Just had a wander round town while the game was on (get in you Rs!). Really busy in a nice way, all the restaurants and pubs which are open doing a good trade. Get the feeling that people were making the most of a nice day before the next lockdown kicks in, somewhat inevitably.

Good point mate and I dunno to be honest. But then again I don’t know the figures for Influenza deaths in the whole population either.
I’ve been too busy on a run, even though I was being a ‘Covidiot’ and breaking the self isolation rules by going running in the first place.
Oh well, lucky it was in a field and the nearest living thing I saw was a cow in the next field along.

The Covid-Hoax will end in December 2021. Before that they will have to rebuild (reset) the Economy. That is what they have repeatedly told us openly. Next year will will wake up in a different world.

Is that true though? There aren't stats for "Long Covid" as Twitter seems to have named it. I dont know if anyone watched Frankie Boyle last week but he and Sarah Pascoe both said they had and still suffer shortness of breath.
Be interesting to know how many people have lingering or repeating symptoms months after infection.
