This season is going to be very condensed, something that hasn't happened before. With this in mind and taking onboard and agreeing with previous comments about Klopp knowing what he's doing, he hasn't faced this type of managing before and doesn't know the impact on his players this type of season will have.

I'm not one to clamour for new signings either but I think the closeness of games that we will be experiencing this season will be different to what we normally have when CL games kick in. It will potentially be games every 3 days for large parts of the season and for that reason I think we need maybe one or two additions to the squad to cope with that. Klopp won't overplay the youngsters and that is really the only alternative with the amount of and speed at which the fixtures will be coming at us. It's unprecedented times and unchartered waters. We need to be fully prepared and equipped for it.

Still don’t get why they didn’t bin off the league cup this year to help ease fixture congestion. Be nice if UEFA did similar with the CL one off games as well to knock a few more games off the calendar.

I'm not like a lot of fans who appear to think that we're stagnating if we're not buying established players on a regular basis. Klopp has taken a group of varying talent and experience and made a world-class team out of them. As a Liverpool fan I want to see us continue at this level, but also as a football fan I'm interested to see if he can keep developing them in the same way, rather than go shopping with a blank cheque every window.
The only thing that bothers me a little is whether or not we have enough strength in depth to cope with a rash of injuries, but then that's part of seeing just what he can do.
After more than half a century of following our club, including its most successful period, I can say that these are probably the most intriguing and compelling times I've seen.
Quintessentially correct.

I dont think thaigo silva or Chilwell are the answer In all honesty.
Chilwell is defensively definitely a step up on Alonso even if a step down offensively . I have doubts about how effective Silva will be tbh as i think the PL may be a bit of a shock to him .
I was just pointing out they have attempted to deal with some of their defensive issues .

Sorry, yes theyve made an attempt, I find it odd that they've spunked so much money on so many forwards but defensively they added Chilwell, I quite like alonso mind and tgiago who has a good chance of being eaten alive.

They still have a calamity of a keeper and a soft centre, in saying that there is still time for another 200million and 4 new players to come in.

We did the same when Klopp arrived; sorted three attack with Bobby, Mane & Salah and tried to organise the opposition. The defence and keeper were last.

It's not that I haven't got faith in Klopp to do well with the resources he has, I just feel that we'll have to ride our luck with injuries once again this season if we're to have any successes. I also think that many of our performances last season were flat from January onwards - although this might be due to a lack of 'close' challengers which might have taken the edge off us mentally. Squads have to keep evolving else they stagnate or age. Our squad has largely remained the same for two seasons now...

CB is a must as Koumetio or Van den berg aren't ready yet.
We have no real rotation option as a wide forward. Origi/Ox/Minamino are not wide players and it really breaks down our style of play when they're put there.
I'm glad LB is finally solved but we've been incredibly lucky that Robbo didn't pick up anything serious the last few seasons.

FSG are tight. They're primarily businessmen afterall, not football fans. They have reinvested money well and increased income, but they haven't actually invested much themselves - even just 20/30mill a season to plug a gap. I'd still rather have them than countries or oligarchs though.

Agree CB is a big priority. We’ve actually decent cover at FB now...or at least I hope we do....we didn’t have that at the start of last season...

would love Thiago but not at the expense of Gini and I agree that we lack wide options beyond Mane and Salah. Wilson, Shaq, Origi are very different players. Will be watching Elliott more closely this season.

Ive said before, I wonder if they are looking at our fortunes and going the same way.

There's a big difference in finishing 4th playing poor football and finishing 4th having a roller coaster season.

They're taking it a bit far though with
Pulisic , Werner , Ziyech , Abraham , Giroud , Hudson - Odoi , Mount , Havertz , Batuashi .
and i'm not even sure i've remembered them all

TBF, none of them are good enough (yet in some cases) for a title challenging team. We're yet to see how three of the remaining four cope in the PL too

Can't see them all being kept happy for more than one season either.
