Oh dear wtf has happened here. This is a ****ing mess. It's going to rumble on all season.

Depends if they actually bother appealing.. They might have been persuaded by Ashley to roll the dice on it.. They might take the 17 million now and **** off..

Time will tell, but there's a glimmer of hope again at this point

Seems a bit odd that they've rejected the takeover when they didn't have to unless their hand has been forced so that an appeal can be made.
Time will hopefully tell but it may be that the PL haven’t officially rejected the application but the legal advice and opinion Ashley has now been given is that by refusing to make a decision then that will be deemed a rejection of the application by the PL.

PIF Definitely resubmitted paperwork.. Ashley wants this deal and it sold.. He's not intersted in premier league reforming their owners and directors test.

if you want this back on your going to have to go to the premier and say this isn't fair...

It's ridiculous when you think about it.... Someone having the power to turn down 100s of millions of investment in a city and stop someone selling his own property because they aren't happy with some information on who makes decisions.

I hope someone runs him over

Does this look like a man that just found out it has failed?

The planned meal? I suspect that was a planned leaving meal and he wasn't expecting it to fail personally..

Hahahahahaha!

Fantastic!

They were all Mike ashley and PIF expecting it to be passed yesterday.. Whether pif can be arsed to keep going is unknown.... If they needed a nudge to come back I fear they'll take the 17 million deposit they get back now after it was officially failed and leave it there... Ashley will make a legal claim for sure, so perhaps some justice if nothing else will served.

Fingers crossed.. There's some saying they wanted a rejected bid so they could appeal the full test rather than just one specific part of it.

If news of an appeal comes it's back on

So it’s pretty much how I thought, that the PL - by default, the big 6 - didn’t fancy the takeover and made a decision to block it. They’ve now come to the decision that they’d rather take on Ashley/KSA than piss off the cartel.

Seems like a pretty stupid decision given the situation with fans and China. But then what does anyone expect of people like Masters and Hoffman in particular? A mystifying man who gets paid millions to ****ing fail miserably everywhere he goes.

Anyway I cannot wait to see what happens next. Quite why anyone would piss on Ashley when the man is so brazenly aggressive with litigation is beyond any understanding.

Will they get away with it? They're certainly more than plucky.

I'm sticking with this

Makes sense.... The premier leagues last remaining delay is the appeal.. They've simply done everything possible to get the Saudis to walk away, but they're not going to

premier league refused to make a decision >apply pressure to make it >premier league forced to fail it>appeal made >the premier league pass it.

That's my stance and I've come this far with Hung drawn and dpp, so there's no turning back now
