If we were good enough for top 4 with last season squad, then we should be a shoo-in this year with the signings we made.
I say should, because anything can happen.
Last season, with the ban, and a squad made up of youth and a rookie manager, I would have been happy with top 6.
This season, with the signings we have made, plus a years worth of experience for our youngsters (And Frank) anything below top 4 would be abject failure.
I am hoping we can challenge, but you just never know which signings will work and which wont, but at least on paper we should be getting third at least.

I agree, as the the signings you’ve made are quality. However, last season there was little pressure as I think most Chelsea fans felt the same as you did, now the expectation level will be much higher, so it’ll be interesting to see how Lampard deals with it. Together with keeping happy the young players who came in last season but will likely be back on the bench.

If they all fit straight in, you’ll be right up there imo, but we’ll see.

Didn't spot that during the game, love it. Dark arts at its finest.

Don’t necessarily disagree with any of that; as you imply though, you’re manager is still learning on the job. Inexperienced manager, young squad, and new signings never guaranteed to fit in, means anything could happen.

No idea whether the pressure will be on Lampard to achieve top 4, but if it is then it will be interesting to see how he reacts to that, because he probably didn’t have much on him last season.

Anyone want to discuss how overrated Harry Kane is ?

Good player but unless he's super match sharp seems to struggle at times.

Probably about 6 Spud posters mate. I'll take a pew.
Suppose the question is...

Would Spurs be a better side by cashing in and reinvesting in the team ?

And who would be daft enough to spend the £100million plus it would take for Levy to be interested ?

I do kind of get what you're saying. There's so many times I watch him and think that he's really not all that but you can't argue with his goal record . Should have had one tonight too.

He didn't look very fit tonight though the whole match had a whiff of pre season about it. Think you have a point regarding his general fitness.

Don't think they'd be better reinvesting as don't think they could attract anyone to score the goals he does.
