the reports of them being unhappy with our behaviour started pretty much at the same time as the bid so before the breakdown . As i said previously i suspect they early on realised we weren't really after Lewis just using him / Norwich to smooth the Tsimikas signing .
Even if that is true, do you think clubs who have to deal with transfers and have contacts wouldn’t know the intentions etc? I can’t see a club being confused and that gullible if it’s that obvious that regular joe bloggs thinks that might be the reason.
Hmmm. Seems rather convoluted to me. Of course, it's not beyond the bounds of possibility, but neither is the idea that Norwich just saw their arses because we didn't stump up what they demanded.
Its not convoluted, its a well know tactic in all aspects of business. If your selling something something and its in high demand you can set the price, but if the buyer has an alternative then your in competition so need to keep your terms lower. We will never know if our intention was serious or not, but its always good to have options open, tather than sticking all your eggs in one basket and being taken for a ride.
The previous sentence was "if your selling something " I'd assumed this made the following part clear, but obviously not.
The conversation is about Norwich selling one of their players. A club can be selling something even if they don't want to; aka someone either matches the full (reluctantly set) asking price or their hand is forced by a ridiculous offer. At no point did Norwich need to drop the price, they didn't want to sell.
No, he was saying it was convoluted and I said it wasn't, it was a legitimate business practice and explained why. It wasn't explicit to norwich at all.
He’s a central striker, so I doubt it. More likely Jimenez if anyone. He’s a massive gamble at that price as he’s literally done nothing at senior level yet.
Just to say, £120m valued Sancho, anonymous for England. For that asking price I'd expect him to win a game on his own.
Jimenez is only 29 though. Wolves have had their eye on this kid for a while but like you say, its a gamble at that price. Could just be strengthening and keeping Traore to push on further in the prem. But if someone offers them silly money for Traore he will go
I mean it’d be more likely for Jimenez to go, rather than Traore, due to where this lad plays. I can’t see anyone paying massive money for Traore at present tbh.
