A gesture of goodwill of £10 for the thousands that I spent last season supporting my team, a gesture that will make me feel like I am a valued as a customer and not just another customer, a gesture of goodwill for leaving my club £500 better off than had I demanded last years and this years season ticket money back (again like many did).
your sense of reasoning is difficult to put into words without being down right nasty! but you seem to be like the tv ad needs to ring the last atom out of what you do for or spend toward. Life is not like that it is probably one of the reasons so many are in a mess world wide want more than is fair for the price [ and not necessarily money ] or as a something for nothing ………… should I choose to pay an entrance fee to go see EDEN in Cornwall, OR pay to go bowling pictures a west end show or even £10, 10 times to watch City at home games in COVID TIMES, and other things I may have been paying paying toward for 65 years or more … I do not expect to suddenly get some freebie hand outs …. I pay for what I choose to avail myself of [ no one forces me to ] and that is it.
SO get real, you choose to pay a season ticket [ and you are not the only one! that in the past HAVE DONE SO, or paid each game home and away when job commitments allowed [ for quite a few seasons I paid for every home game, may have missed odd one, every cup game ] thus paying far more than the season ticket! CURRENTLY due to situations I am lucky if I can put £100 -£150 into the city coffers … last season just about £80 … when it comes to supporting city you are no different than anyone else … over the year 1000's have paid their money and not expected bogof .. or special reward for loyalty …

When you took up the option of not taking a refund then what you had paid for had changed, you agreed to what the conditions of your option was and thus getting what you paid for under the changed conditions. Of course I know I'm a season ticket holder as well and took up the same option you did. Funny you say about the small print because nowhere did it say under any of the option that you would get free stuff in the future, which what you seem to be expecting

Well I beg to differ on this.

And as for free stuff, the club got all of the free stuff and this season will be even worse because, unlike with the restart where every match home and away was available, it would appear that will not be the case with the forthcoming season, so I am waiting with baited breath to see what the club come up with at the end of the week.

It's funny that you mention the small print, because a cynic might claim that the club was trying to pull a fast one by hiding the refund option, but I am sure it was just all a misunderstanding.

The old conspiracy fast one theory even though everybody knew about the refund option

You did get what you paid for because you had a choice of a refund which you turned down and chose a different option. You made the choice but still whine about it

True, I’m going to call Tesco’s we spend over a £100 each week so they should get me my shopping this week.

JUST PHONED TESCO …. lol … told them I will expect my shopping to be delivered free as I have been a customer for over 40 years. Happy to deliver, it will £5 …

True , but to be fair you didn’t pay Tesco upfront for a years worth of shopping, to then not be able to go shopping and then tell Tesco that’s fine, they can keep the money you’d paid for that shopping although you didn’t actually get any.
Interesting slant, but doesn't quite work! … lol but know what you mean ...

LOA … The interesting thing about Jiffie is he cannot ever be wrong, always does or says things for reward [ not always financially] and never has the old adage of …. "those that cannot change the very fabric of their thoughts will never be able to change in reality" been so apt ... he is, sadly, aggrieved at BCFC not giving him a free ticket for the cup game, he cannot see that to do so would mean all [ the greater majority that just left their money in the club] would need to have to be disappointed because they were having to get a refund or robbed of paying £10 extra to help the club. ….. maybe we should club together and for his mental health refund him the season ticket money and pay his Exeter TV ????

Ha, ha, ha pot and kettle come to mind.

PS:- my mental health is fine, the only time I come close to a problem is unravelling your ramblings, that nobody seems to understand.

Coming from somebody who's hope is that 25% of the clubs season ticket holders claim a refund, which I am sure even the club wouldn't be happy about, so as he can sit in his little bubble and watch all 23 home games, presumably so as he can get exactly what he paid for?
Don’t be so petty, I don’t want to sit in a bubble. I want to go to games like I did pre Covid. Travel how I want and sit in my own ST seat to moan and cheer.
Life changed since Covid times, and like you and thousands of others millions throughout the country bought this years season ticket knowing the risk of not attending was high.
What I don’t want but will accept it if it happens would be 12 thousand into 9 thousand don’t go so I don’t want to be rationed (put into a ballot) to when I can attend or not.
I would not of gone to the cup game so I will either pay £10 or listen to the radio coverage. I won’t go round complaining because the club are not donating £10 so I can watch online. Especially when I know that clubs are going to struggle this year and need all the help they can get to survive. FFP prevents SL or any other owner stepping in to help above the set limit.

wrong adage …..

…. point taken maybe I should be less IN A HURRY and maybe read through the grammar [ sometimes leave out words, punctuation, after years of morse code ..assumption is receiving station fills in blanks! ] maybe cut down on the information in each post and adopt your approach …. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I am not a member of OTIB, there are quite a few of us that are and good luck to you, I do go over there and study mood and comments I must admit, I enjoy a good read, there are other forums I visit, it does broaden my views and I have never wanted to get stuck on the railways lines of not 606.

It's not a crime to both learn from others and try to avoid mistakes I believe they sometimes make.

In my business I give priority to customers who remain loyal and pay on time.
Alas the business that is football is different.
They know we, customers, can't change allegiance whatever they impose.
And paying young men ridiculous salaries just adds frustration.

Jiffie, you can't change it, lie back and think of England.

Not just football RP, there are plenty of companies that don't give a stuff just so long as they take your money...I've had recent experience with my vets...long story, but no interest in the well being of the pet, just how much they can drain out of you.....

Didn't you get value for your £20 before Covid hit then? Not sure what you would expect the club to do for you once covid hit? Surely you didn't expect to get free Robins TV like the season ticket holders?
I went to 2 games; Fulham and Barnsley.
No I’m not unreasonable enough to expect free tv. I did imagine there would be SOMETHING for members though - perhaps a small discount like 10%?
It’s not chewing me up - I’m just mildly annoyed that once Covid hit our membership became worthless.
I only mentioned it because the theme of this thread reminded me.

No it doesn’t quite work JGF , but you get my point . I don’t agree with Jiffie , but for once I understand what he’s getting at. He took the choice he did , as did I by the way, but feels a gesture from the club would be nice, like I said I see his point, even though I don’t necessarily agree with him.

surely should you choose to take a path and you do so without hoping that you are going to be rewarded for doing so … bit like the voters I guess! … you vote for A B or C and hope that what you voted for is what you want/get … should you not get it, then next time you can reconsider , you cannot expect to vote the same and still get what you want should the other choices have what you are seeking ….

It's not a crime to both learn from others and try to avoid mistakes I believe they sometimes make.
Absolutely, learning has been my forte since reading the EVENING WORLD to my blind grandfather as a 4/5 year old … then having 3 or more boring primary school years as others caught up! lol ….. I was going through the scrap book the other night [ used to cut out the bits I read ] looking for the article that had the first "big" word I learned ….. consequentially! the penny dropped! …. …. I may not have started cutting and saving till after it!
football wise I tend to go other championship club forums /BEEB/ SKY etc … for other stuff it is pertinent subject matter research, which often links to forums /threads ….. and some are just as controversial as on here!

I like the way the club are doing the refunds on every game ST holders miss this season. I know some will say that they should be giving us streams for free. But to me I think this is a better way and also gives the club money during these times.
This also retains our seats for when crowds are allowed to come back.
