Love to see him in the prem. on other hand he could only go city you’d imagine and Would make them so strong
umm maybe but not sure many sponsors will be wanting to add to their financial commitment to clubs arm
Handed in his transfer request Apparently Messi is allowed to leave for free. Messi believes a clause in his contract means that he's allowed to terminate the last year of his contract. Barca think that the clause has expired. Could get interesting
if he comes to the prem it will be interesting to see if he copes, and if he gets the time he needs on the ball. I think he is also past his best so might struggle. May go to Italy or USA/China
I think he's used to getting kicked already so that won't bother him. The pace of the game may be a issue but whoever he joins will probably let him stay up top and not defend so they get the best out if him. Already rumours of Man Utd going for him. Can't see that happening though. Man City, PSG or China imo
Be a bit **** if Barca took him to court over it. Didn't cost them anything, been phenomenal throughout his time there, breaking records and winning everything going, pretty sure they could just let him go.
Agreed. They should do it with minimal fuss like Madrid did with Ronaldo really. Will benefit them hugely getting him off the wagebill too in terms of the rebuild.
be a bit **** if Messi ****ed over the club who made him an icon & who have funded him and his family royally by trying to engineer an exit on a free . always depends on your viewpoint
ah but it looks like Messi precipitated this rather than Barca being unwilling to listen to sensible offers .
Barca gave him the clause ultimately, and have been reminding the football world all summer of his release clause so not sure I completely agree with that. He'll probably end up staying after all this.
So the clause was that Messi was allowed to terminate if he informed Barca that he wished to do so, but had to do it before the 10th June, which would normally have been after the season had ended. Messi's arguement is that the clause should have been extended due to Covid. That he was unable to exercise the clause due to Barca still having games to play and the termination meaning he would have had to leave the club with immediate effect.
Tbh think might be all games anyway. Messi showing his displeasure at the board who are up for election in March. Could just be messi putting his weight behind a new president who will be bringing xavi in as manager next season anyway
Obviously messi is iconic, but is he now more of a legend? In all honesty would you be happy signing him, 33, on the decline, would demand to be first choice, would expect to have a say in the running of the club and thats before you get on the the absolute beasting youd take with wages for what could turn our to be a very short term fling. Actually it sounds absolutely made for utd
