Not quite sure why that is in reply to me, but for the record I had no issue with Ghaly, a complete overreaction to a nothing incident by the fans.

I feel for Ghaly, he apologised and said he never meant to disrespect the shirt. then a long time later when Harry Redknapp was manager and he was going to bring him on and he decided not to because fans were booing him. That was overly harsh

Most of us here almost certainly still chant Hugo/ Dele/ Ledley's names at games (I certainly do) despite all having done unsavoury stuff, so to turn your nose up at Suarez because he's been a prick at his previous club(s) is pretty hypocritical.

Morals and high ground... Lol.

A lot of unsubstantiated rumours on twitter that we want Matt Doherty from Wolves - he ticks a lot of boxes as to the sort of RB we need and they are rumoured to be signing Maitland Niles who could replace him

One has to remember that a lot of footballers are less educated ( NOT a generalization, just that quite a few leave school at an early age and when at school are concentrating on their footballing skills and not on their lessons ) and therefore make these errors in behaviour and misjudgments about what is and what is not acceptable.

Ajax and Netherlands midfielder Donny van de Beek, 23, is awaiting offers from Premier League clubs. (Sky Sports)

I’d take Donny all day long but think Madrid will go for him as a long term successor to Modric/ Kroos.

Solid if not spectacular signing. Must admit I think Tripps is/ was better but I think Doherty is a more reliable option than Aurier. Wouldn’t say no to him but I’d be surprised if Wolves were open to selling even with the likely addition of Maitland-Niles, who I think actually prefers to play as a CM anyway so he may not even be a Doherty replacement for them. They may view him as someone to challenge and compete with Moutinho and Neves.

I get that footballers can be out of order but there are lines that shouldn't be crossed for me.

Suarez was racist...if he owned up and took his punishment fair enough, maybe you could say he had changed.
But he didn't. He denied he did anything wrong and to me that is way over the line.

Hugo got pissed and drove (if he got jailed he'd only have himself to blame), Ledley got pissed and pissed himself and me and you disagreed re Dele's brhaviour.

Being a dick is one thing, being an unapologetic racist is another.

This don't make me right btw...it's just how I see it.

Suarez has had over 8 years to come out and apologise but still refuses to do so.

It's nothing to do with the "moral high ground" either...I do not think you or Spurlock have no morals, I just think we have different lines in the sand.

If you could guarantee a "fair weather" Suarez, then he is worth having.
However you always would live in fear that you would get some of his Poool / Chile
antics and it becomes an avalanche PR disaster.

My "lines" have high explosive devices buried just beyond. Cross them at your peril ...

The headline neglected to add the part where he wasn't implying that Crystal Palace should make a bid until they have a Russian and/or Middle Eastern billionaire signing off on it

On that subject, there's something bizarre that's really pissing me off about the Reddit crowd: they seem to think that the Chavs summer spending spree is entirely down to their transfer ban and not in any way related to a Russian billionaire who has happily thrown money at problems for the last sixteen years, for example a season-long transfer ban can be solved by waiting for it to expire and then throwing tens of millions at Ziyech, Werner et al at a time where 90% of the Premier League is having to be very, very careful with their spending due to making approximately £0.00 from the final third of the season

I guess it depends on how you draw your line(s).

I'd say drink driving is worse than making a racial slur. Yet I continue to support and cheer on Hugo.

Ledley also done a bit more than get pissed, he tried fighting bouncers and was accused of making a racial slur himself. Yet I still idolise the guy.

Ultimately we as fans will generally back our players even when we know they've done wrong. All clubs do that too for the record, it's the nature of a fan. Doesn't make it right, though it just 'is'. It's why I won't say no to Suarez based on what he's said, because I know that if he were to join (he won't) and he scored a bunch of goals everyone would be cheering his name.

I never accused you of saying Spurly or I have no morals.

Just a reminder, but if you're a Spurs fan whose main activity is saying "Sign some players" in response to any of the club's tweet you're dangerously close to sounding like one of these entitled thundercunts...
