Not convinced by Graham at all. Thought he was very poor first time around.

If he does come back I’m hopeful he would be a stand out in this division, he didn’t meet expectation 1st time, but still gave 100% effort which counts for alot

That was in the Premier. We are in the third division now and a different class of football. Saying that I would prefer a younger player but would not turn my nose up at Graham.

I know what you're saying but I just never really took to him. He is 35ish now I think and I would rather go for someone younger who is on the up in their career.

He shares my birthday date and is, like you say, 35. I think he’d do a job down here. Hopefully more as back up if it is true!

Like I said I would prefer someone younger. I can't say I was bothered either way when Graham played for us but have to admit he was a trier, there again football is littered with triers who did not make it.
If he comes in surely Wyke should be on the way out and a more athletic striker brought into the forward line but we know Parkinsons liking for target men. Probably two target men plus O'Brien and Grigg to feed off them.

Graham failing in the Prem was very different.

He came from an attack minded Swansea side that played with wingers and he did very, very well there, he scored 1 in 3 over 3 seasons championship level.

He’s knocking on, but some great goal scorers have scored goals in the bottom 2 tiers way older, one that springs to mind is Cureton, kept scoring in bottom 2 leagues until he was 40.

I think Graham would be solid in this league, Wylie doesn’t score, Grigg doesn’t score. He will score more than they do.

I would also admire the massive bollocks on him coming back to a club where he scored 1 in 40, albeit in very different circumstances.

Sunderland AFC are pleased to confirm the signing of former Hartlepool United defender Kenton Richardson.

The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal on Wearside following the expiration of his contract at the National League side.

Richardson, who spent time at Sunderland’s academy as a youngster, links up with Elliott Dickman’s Under-23 squad.

The right-back made his senior debut back in 2017 with Pools and went on to make 43 appearances, 11 of which were in Sky Bet League Two.

Following his switch to Wearside, Richardson said: “I’m delighted to sign for the club. It’s extra special for me because I used to have a season ticket here with my dad. I can’t wait to get going now and push on this season.”

Under-23 head coach Elliott Dickman added: “We’re very pleased with the signing of Kenton. He has a lot of experience at National League level despite his young age, so that’s going to add something to our group and really help the younger players. His attitude is very good and it’s down to him now to progress to the first team.”
