Luka Modrić says [HASHTAG]#thfc[/HASHTAG] chairman Daniel Levy drove José Mourinho crazy during talks to buy him in 2012: "My representatives kept me informed. As did Jose Mourinho. Levy was driving them crazy - every time they reached an agreement, he asked for something else."

1. GOOD !!! :D

2. We should ask Jose for his own story on the Modric signing saga
during summer 2012 (fertile ground to get more Levy legend quotes to
add to those of SAF) . :)

Apparently a former Utd youngster, Dion McGhee, is on trial here having just been released. Seems like the rumour has come from a Utd equivalent to Lilywhite Rose so may have some truth.

RB Watch
The Pathetic are fishing for subscriptions by claiming that we're not looking to bring in a younger RB such as Celik, Aarons or Castagne and are instead looking at a more experienced option

...of course, they daren't actually suggest who that might be as that would involve putting their necks on the line, and there's no way that David Ornstein would be doing that in one of their free-to-watch Youtube videos

*ahem*

Luka Modric

“I wanted to fight for trophies and win titles, and I felt this wouldn’t happen if I stayed at Tottenham. I wanted to move to a more ambitious club”
Can`t really blame him for this
Still need at least another 3 imo

Right back
Centre Back
Midfielder

Plus ideally a striker too
To really have a proper go we still need another good quality CF, RB, CB, a possible upgrade at LB and an AM to replace Eriksen (who we miss terribly). Ideally we bring in upgrades on our weakest links and fill the holes in our squad to add depth.

I agree but that’s too much for 1 window, the problem with doing it over 2-3 windows is then you have other issues which will come up, like the goalkeeping situation and other positions where players will deteriorate or be sold.

Ideally you want to be in the position where you just need 1-2 every window to keep things fresh and ticking over rather than massive rebuilds

Hoping our next signing is a forward and we really need to get him in quickly.

Our early fixtures are insane and we cant be playing Kane and Son every two or three days.

After that priority for me is a RB/CB (depending on where Jose wishes to utilize Tanganga).

Finally, if Aurier, N'Dombele or Lamela leave they obviously will need replacing.

Mail running with the story we’re going to make a £20m bid for Ainsley Maitland-Niles. I’m sure Arsenal will be really welcoming of that...

Reports in Spain. Again. Keep linking us with Bale. Again. And mention he wants out of Madrid. Again. And Madrid want rid of him. Again.

The life of a football journalist must be so easy to get paid to just rewrite stuff year after year.

The only way I could see us being interested in Maitland-Niles is if we wanted a younger, homegrown replacement for Sissoko.
He supposedly wants to leave Arsenal to play more often, but I don't see how that would be any different for us.

The story is based on him being an Aurier replacement, not a central midfielder. Despite the fact I’m sure I’ve read he doesn’t really like playing RB. Highly doubt Arsenal would even entertain a bid even if there were any truth in it.

It depends on how highly they rate him, how badly they need the money and what other options they have available.
I doubt that they'll sell him at all. It's a tight season and they've got a lot of fixtures.
Selling a young, versatile player right now would be pretty stupid, in my opinion, especially when they've got plenty of deadwood.
