I think priorities now are a RB and a backup striker. AMN would be funny just to annoy the Goons, though I doubt they'd sell to us <laugh> Very promising young player though and his versatility to play RB and also back up Hojbjerg in midfield would be a plus.

I don't think we'll get a CB if Foyth stays, the hierarchy will presumably be Toby -> Dier -> Dave -> JT -> Foyth then any of the youngsters. Plus Davies in a pinch.

According to Cuatro? Spanish media? Mourinho wants him. 31 years old, hardly played in last year and on £500k per week (at least). Very unlikely unless Madrid subsidise at least 60% of that.

Yeah I think someone on Twitter worked out he still has about £64m left to earn at Madrid on his current contract. He seems content just picking up that wage in my opinion. He’s won everything in Spain plus the CL multiple times, probably doesn’t care what happens on the pitch anymore lol.

    64m !!?? :O

No doubt the "constructive dismissal" machinations within the club will
be immense, but IMHO has long as he +/- family are not being subject to
persistent hostile physical intimidation in their daily life, then all good.

    Hang in there Gareth.
The after tax on 64m is a lot of money that could do immense altruistic
    work back home in Wales.

Surprised Spurs aren’t in for Gabriel from Lille

Affordable and fits the profile Spurs want

There have been stories circulating for 3 weeks or so that Arsenal want to sell him to raise funds to strengthen their defence.

Yeah I think they're definitely looking to sell him, I just don't think they'd sell to us. Selling someone that basically strengthens their fiercest rival would be very odd.

He's looked really good this season but that was his first full season as a starter in Ligue 1, £25m for someone with just 30-35 games in that league is a risk in my opinion, especially when the majority of our signings from Ligue 1 have been nothing short of shocking, lol.

I don't think a CB is seen as a priority either at the moment, only unless we can sign a game changer like Skriniar.

Is he a game changer though? I didn’t think he’d been pulling up trees at Inter.

I think he's brick wall. Easily one of the best CBs in Serie A and probably Europe in my opinion. Think he'd be perfect for the way Jose plays, too.

I can't see it happening for what it's worth, I think Jose/ the club are working on RB and ST before looking at a CB and so it's very unlikely we'd have the money to get him afterwards, only way I think it happens is if there really is a swap deal involving him and Ndombele but then we'd need to sign either a creative CAM/ CM.

A few on Twitter did put forward the hypothetical question of would you take cash and Skriniar for Ndombele if it meant Spurs then used money to sign Sabitzer? Personally I'd take that, I'd love to see Ndombele succeed here as he does have unreal ability but I think getting in two top players to replace one potentially elite one makes sense for our situation right now.

Yeah I’d take that, if he’s as good as you say. But yeah, not sure it’ll come off.

Mail are saying Jose might be interested in Rakitic and James Rodriguez.

There were rumours a few weeks back Rodriguez was set to join Atleti for just €15m, if that really is the price then we should definitely be all over that. He’s someone who could do a job at replacing Eriksen’s creativity, though for those that berated Eriksen for not tackling, you’ll probably hate Rodriguez even more <laugh>.

Rakitic would make a hell of a lot of sense, more so if the club does give in and cash in on Ndombele/ swap deal with Skriniar.

The obvious thing with Rakitic is we can just put Winks next to him and say "Do what Ivan does"

Hojbjerg being in there means it would actually be possible to do that...

    Aurier Watch
The Gazzetta dello Sport report that Aurier's on the very of moving to Milan for £18m, so place your bets: Aarons, Castagne, Celik, or Someone Else?

...although probably not Semedo, as Barca have decided he's not for sale and are offering him a new contract

Nah, he can just chill on the bench taking notes whilst Lo Celso, Rakitic and Hojbjerg annihilate the opposition midfield ;)
