Sunderland aren’t any great shakes. Depends on how we look by the time the tie comes around.

How do you expect us to start playing decent football when we have the same manager, probably the same tactics, same training staff, same owners running the club as we had for the the second half of last season.

    Love that song:

And those of us with ravaged faces
    Lacking in the social graces
    Desperately remained at home
    Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say "Come dance with me"
    And murmured vague obscenities
    It isn't all it seems
    At seventeen.

Talking about vague obscenities, remember this one?

    A permanent reaction?

That's not the lyric on my 7 inch version.

    (Oh for ****s sake Ernie...

All that hunting on YouTube for one purile line).

Sorry about the introduction by the way.

    **** is as **** does.

I assume that should we (unlikely) ever get to the final of said competition you'll feel the same way?

Every professional league has a League Cup. It’s hardly a waste of time, if it wasn’t treated by bigger teams as an exhibition match, fans would probably take it more seriously.

I don’t recall many saying it was a tinpot trophy when we made it to the semis under Silva.

I was , doesn't mean i didnt want us to win that game (go through ) , i want us to win every game , and a trophy is better than no trophy even if it is tinpot and usually a waste of time because as the other guy mentions nobody takes it seriously anymore which then makes it a waste of time for everybody when you end up playing the B teams of top flight sides .

Bit harsh calling it tinpot, teams, and fans of teams that do well in it would probably disagree. However since I think English teams play too many games in a season I wouldn't be too disappointed if it was scrapped.

Whoahhhhhh there Trigger! We made it to the semis under Phelan. Silva only came in for the (winning) second leg.

Yeah, I do. Because it's still one of the major trophies in England and most fans of clubs outside of the big 6 would love to see their club win it.

Have you forgotten that we've won ****ing nothing? Imagine not caring about winning what could, in theory, be the first trophy in our history...

I also care more about getting rid of those pricks, but I'm not on about winning anything this season, I'm on about it in general. Not caring about winning a trophy when we've won nothing is ****ing ridiculous as far as I'm concerned.

I'd love us to win the EFL Trophy, why? Because we've won nowt. I don't care if it's considered 'tinpot' or not. Until we actually have any actual success, no trophy is tinpot.

You do know its possible to think its become tinpot due to how other clubs treat it ( as you even said yourself ) and also want us to win every game in it dont you ? Thats not an impossible position to hold is it ? Hardly ridiculous .
