Legend Catts man!
Sorry about that mate, but never took to Catts, he did play well for us in the end, but by this time we were playing at his level due in no small part to his previous contributions, on and off the field , and will never understand or agree with the admiration afforded to this very limited footballer.

Loved Catts me like.

A player not blessed with great technical ability but has the heart of a lion. Dont think he was dirty just loved to tackle hard which is why refs loved to book him. There was no such thing as a subtle foul from Catts. That said I never seen him fly in 2 footed or studs up unlike some (That **** Cabaye for one who got away with this stuff every week)

On a side not I loved the way he always had his shorts pulled up to his nipples.

He was old school not the best but he was a 100% when available.

If we had him in our team this season he would drag the rest along even when he was on the bench.

Just our owners are robbing bastards and wanted his wage in their pockets.

We have had lots of very good technical players who never put in the effort it's just a shame none of them had the passion catts did on the pitch.

He did make a tit of himself off the pitch but tbh he redeemed himself on it especially nailing Colback <laugh>

I'd happily buy him a pint and say thank you for his service even though should be the other way around as he has all the money :emoticon-0102-bigsm<ale><cheers>

Yeah he had a rep as a dirty player but he was nothing of the sort. Just loved the physical side of the game.

That's a real misconception, he was not in any sense a dirty player, rash yes, but never cynical. I don't think he ever injured anyone other than Colback in his career, his problem was all down to lack of control imo.

Exactly a lot of his yellows if it was another player who had done the tackle probably wouldn't have got one and possibly not even conceded the foul.

He was a marked man by the refs.

It happens a lot in football, player looses the ball chases back, mistimes the tackle and gets booked, you can almost see it before it happens, its a natural re-action by player and Ref. We often talk about M'Vila on here, he was a master at finding time and space in mid field , in all the time he was here he rarely lost the ball, but the one time I remember him doing so, he chased back brought the player down and sure as eggs is eggs went in the book. On another tack, I see in Bali Mumba as a possible future M'Vila, he also has the knack of finding space where there is none, he has a lot to do to get to M'Vilas level and may never do so, buts its not impossible, if he is given the opportunity, certainly more than he has had so far. Sadly I just cant see it happening the way things are at the club, but a lot may change in the next month or two, one way or another, its a funny old game. <ok>

Chest beater
Talked a good game

he was canny when we bought him but then he got that bad knee injury and was never the same afterwards

I think he was more feared in the pubs of Yarm than he was on the football pitch
