As any British club ever paid £100m+ for a player? I can't think of one off the top of my head but I'm sure someone will point a obvious transfer out to me...
Pogba must have been close? Otherwise its ****ing Harry Maguire next on the list. God, they don't half waste some money
And Lukaku who was just a few million less than Maguire. Transfermarkt has them as Pogba £94.5m, Maguire £78.3m and Lukaku £76.23m. Sancho, apparently it's just been revealed, is contracted to 2023.
So the prediction for this summer transfer window following the world wide pandemic and the potential financial implications is that English clubs won't do something they've never done before? Seems wild...
Still in the middle of a pandemic with no dates set for new season and complete uncertainty and predictability about how the new season will start, when it will start and will it be interrupted etc. I'm all for planning ahead and putting measures in place to continue what the resumption of football started but £100m is insane.
