GRAND ENTERPRISE 20/1 Southwell 5:20 Now reaching the veteran stage so he is going to get any better but a reproduction of some of last seasons placed efforts would see him in with a great chance here. Probably his best run last season was in a grade better off 85 so now in a Class 5 racing off 79 his chance is obvious. He never landed a blow on his seasonal debut but that was over a trip too sharp for him. He wasnt disgraced that day and the nett effect was minus 3 from the handicapper. He was too consistent for his own good last season but now the weight men have given him a chance it will be interesting to see if he can finally add to his sole success from 34 starts. It will be very interesting to see what the market makes of him.
Sorry, my post wasn't meant to come across like i was questioning you. You can see the price has moved. It was more an exclamation from myself of '**** only 8s, i've missed the good price!'
20/1!! It is some race you've picked, it'll be interesting to see how it goes in the market tomorrow. That Signy horse looked well ahead of the handicapper when it won on its return, it looked a class apart that day and interestingly managed to find more despite that mistake at the last. It is only up 5lbs, so that shouldn't stop it, but it might just be one of those horses who is best fresh. Tricky old race!
Nice to see Malone Road back having a wee spin out at Ballinrobe. Hopefully he can stay injury free and kick on this season
Sir Mark Prescott sends one up in the fist at Leicester, a horse called Summer's Knight, by Camelot, currently 33-1 on Betfair. There are some very good horses in the race, including owned by Godolphin and one from the Queen, but at 33-1, it's worth a punt ew I feel.
GLORIOUS DANE 16/1 Southwell 3:45 Another tricky handicap that I picked to have a bet in. I should be supporting the Foxtrot/Newland horse I know but that one is pretty exposed whereas over hurdles Glorious Dane is still very much a novice. Three runs over hurdles last year were each progressive in turn and if you look at its last run at Catterick the winner is now rated 126 and the runner up 120, he gets in here off a mark of 105 and this yard have a very decent record when their hurdlers go handicapping for the first time. He had a recent cobweb blower on the flat that was really eyecatching as he finished the race off really strongly.
I refuse to use Betfair. They are immoral in many ways. Banned me from taking money from them on Sportsbook but still want me to use the Exchange where they can safely rake off millions! Chicken **** ****ers! Talking of immoral. I was in Cadiz this weekend and in the harbour you really could not miss a yacht called the "Azzam". Owned by the top sheikh in the UAE and cost $600 million dollars to build. It is the second biggest privately owned yacht in the World, Roman Abramovitch owns the third largest. They have something in common whereby they are both listed for private hire yet with no price tag and in reality neither is actually for hire, however listing them for hire means they are exempt from taxes! It doesnt get much more immoral than that now does it!
The Omani Royal Family (peace be upon them) have asked me to point out that their yacht Fulk Al Salamah is actually the third largest in the world, and that Eclipse, belonging to the grubby little upstart Russian tradesman Abramovitch, is only the fourth largest. There's a thought - Dennis O'Kelly would have bitten your hand off if you'd laid him a price for Eclipse not to be in the first three.
That’s because you aren’t their liability on the exchange! So don’t care me how much you win but still make thier commission off you. So I take it you’re not paying the 8% then
Surely it’s just one of his 3 runs to get a complete basement mark: they then step him up in distance by double and he wins 5 on the trot! Because sir mark has never done that before!! also he is by Camelot and along with his dam long distance races is in his blood!!
