what would you say is one of the greatest films ever made?

Songs and films...I couldn’t whittle them down to my favourites. There’s 100’s of great movies and Gladiator is defo one of them

Certainly is one of the best ever made.

I think Saving Private Ryan is another one of them, Schindlers List, Forrest Gump.

They're all very different but each of them on their own merits could be considered some of the best films ever made.

You ask me a question and then say that <laugh>

I probably seen films i have forgotten that were better than Gladiator, where do you limit "one of the best ever made" when you say 100s of great movies and Gladiator is one of them, top 100, top 500, top 1000?
It was a good film, one of the greatest ever made might be pushing it a bit :grin:

I liked all three of them and would be happy to watch again on a quiet night.
Where do you draw the line at "best ever made" (taking out the personal preference component), is it top 10, top 50 or as Spurly stated top 100s?

Honestly because of just how many movies out there I have to go with @Spurlock and say 100s.

Removing personal preference you're talking about things like Frozen being one of the best kids movies ever made, therefore one of the best films ever produced. Then like, the best horror movies, best action, best reality, best everything. There's quite literally hundreds of options.

So what is better?

I only have 2 that i can state, IMO were better films, but that's preference..

Gladiator to me is right up there, because no matter how many times you've seen it, you'll watch it again and again....Not many films do that.

Exactly, one of the best ever made is a personal choice and can never be anything else (or Elsa :bandit:) <laugh>

anyway...reckon the guise could easily muster up over a 100 movies that are great and we don’t have to consider things like ‘best animation’ d fuk. We could easily have a list we would all watch..there’s so many

anyway...there’s better animations than Frozen aswell
