Ok. I am not a scientist but I would have thought that being ''better at its job'' would mean to become more infectious but less deadly. If I were a germ it would be bad business to kill off my host - far better to have him wandering around spreading me in all directions. So the milder forms have more chance of spreading than the deadlier ones - survival of the fittest and all that. Doctors in Italy and in parts of the USA have found that the infections of today are not as serious (ie. do not have the same viral load) as those of 2 months ago - though this has been observation rather than clinical study. However - this is insufficient ground for relaxing lockdowns and throwing away masks in all directions. We never actually produced vaccines for the Spanish, Asian or Hong Kong flu strains at the time - they all evolved into milder strains, though it is hard to imagine that happening in just a couple of months.

I do get the impression that your are not interested in facts hence to support those criminals that have created this horrendeous fraud on mankind. You are not interested in the official sites such as Euromomo, nor do you have a clue how the PCR tests works. You do not care how the numbers are being put togehter and I have serious doubt that you do have any knowledge about this matter at all.

Unlike you, I always back up my statements with facts (links) and you are certainly not a scientists - pretty poor.

Right but not the whole story, Cologne. Ebola is a brilliant virus, but far too good as you say. It kills its host too quickly to spread far, and so it can be contained. It also infects and youy begin to feel ill very quickly, and so do not go around spreading it.
HIV virus is a "better" virus even, a different approach, you get infected and nothing happens for years.....but then go down hill (until the advent of anti-virals)

But just imagine Covid19 with its 5 days of "assymptomatic" infection before some people develop symptoms....If it keeps that part but adds in a more destructive way of infecting the lungs and kidney etc...for example it seems to bind to ACE2 ...but ACE is a family of proteins, what if it bound to all the different ACE proteins in all the different cells...it would kill its patients in lots of different ways.

People are being treated earlier, and so the load is less, but lets hope it is because less viruklant form is now in circulation

Not sure that is quite right...The flu virus is all the same virus, and every few years we get a new virulent strain that has mutated from a preexisting strain
. It is virulant to us, because we have little immunity to the new strain

The next months will be as follows:

The next lockdown will occur in September, destroying most of the SME's. Unemployment figures will rise rapidly, poverty will increase noticeably and dependence on the state will increase swiftly. The suicide rate will reach unprecedented levels and the welfare system will collapse. For some time, people will be kept quiet with basic income (MMT) but these initially unconditional incomes will very quickly become conditional. This has been the goal of the communists since the collapse of the Eastern Bloc 1989 and this is now being implemented accordingly. That a virus would be taken for this transformation is quite perfidious, but since many gullible and uneducated people follow this narrative, it must be called almost genius. Obviously nobody here in the forum has read George Orwell nor Aldous Huxley, let alone understood them.

Useless to stay here any longer, believe in the virus and overlook the real danger.

So unlucky that £156m+ spent on PPE with a company with absolutely no history of making PPE and with a totally unrelated link to a senior Tory turned out to be wasted. Doubly unlucky that it keeps happening.

And a panel of experts will decide that Watford were not really relegated - it was all an illusion. They will find out that they were, in fact, league champions and a Champions League place is rightfully theirs. News of their losses were all, in fact, fake news !

Just out of curiosity, do you believe that the earth is flat and that the universe is an illusion created by our rulers?

950 new cases today, so this is going to continue to escalate and the Gov will come back after their 6 weeks holiday and point the finger squarely at us.

I think we should only be concerned if the numbers of hospitalisations and deaths start to go up again. Increased testing will identify more cases, but the vast majority will have mild or no symptoms, or indeed be false positives.

As you say though, they'll blame us anyway - or 'the science'.

Interesting program on the beeb last night....

Surviving the Virus: My Brother & Me: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000ljnb via @bbciplayer

Twin brothers Chris and Xand van Tulleken, both doctors, share their personal and professional experiences of Covid-19.

Chris is an infectious diseases doctor at the world-leading UCL Hospital in London. During lockdown he was asked to return to work on the wards for the first time in ten years. As well as treating seriously ill patients, he wants to understand what the virus is doing to our bodies and why it is so difficult to treat. To make things more stressful for Chris, his wife Dinah is seven months pregnant with their second child.

Chris’s twin brother, Xand, is a specialist in public health. Xand has worked in medical emergencies around the world, but never so close to home. He wants to examine the impact Covid-19 is having outside our hospitals – on the UK’s most vulnerable - and lend a hand where he can. Xand contracted Covid-19 in March, and it left him tired and sluggish. He has also developed an irregular heartbeat, which he suspects is part of the aftermath of his Covid infection.

Xand accepts an invitation to visit Philia Lodge care home in Peterborough, where they want to show him what they’re up against. It was one of the first care homes in the country to suffer a coronavirus outbreak, and one-third of their residents died. Xand is shocked by what he sees and hears. He also visits St Pancras Rehabilitation Centre, where he meets other patients dealing with the longer-term consequences of the virus.

I am sure many people have read both Orwell and Huxley, they wrote a number of books...any you recommend (Road to Wigan Pier, The Devils of Loudun are both an interesting read)

I assume you have studied "The Doors of Perception" deeply and that might be the fundamental cause of your problems.

If any of you were planning a trip to Andorra then you’ll have to quarantine.

Or just take your chances on not being checked when you get back as no one is.

Just spoke to one of my brothers, a deputy head teacher in a school of over 1700 pupils. They have been informed that their pupils cant social distance and therefore dont have to! Roll on september when I reckon the country may just come to a standstill again
