The group looking to buy Newcastle have pulled out.

“Ultimately, during the unforeseeably prolonged process, the commercial agreement between the Investment Group and the club’s owners expired and our investment thesis could not be sustained, particularly with no clarity as to the circumstances under which the next season will start and the new norms that will arise for matches, training and other activities.”

If they are bricking it over the fallout from Covid, I cannot see a sale of City in the near future. Yes, I know I should have put 24 hours, but that is as stale now as a month old loaf.

Conspiracy theorists reckon the top 6 Prem cartel stuck their oar in to limit the chances of anyone encroaching.

Less scrutiny in the efl !!!! Perhaps they're now looking a couple of hundred miles along the East coast at a club with a decent size fan base and loads of potential. I am of course referring to Grimsby Town!!!!

He really hasn't done much wrong at Newcastle, he's pretty much just refused to spunk all his fortune to fund a top 4 push

I know we are looking from the outside in, but I don't get the issue either.

They must have had the largest wage bill in Championship history under Benitez, which would have resulted in significant losses. They have spent a decent chunk of money in the last 18 months too.

There must be more too it!

There really isn't, I know people who both support and are employed by the club and pretty much that's the reason the fans don't like him, they claim he's greedy, doesn't spend money etc..
