And you still haven't answered the question I asked!

To save other posters having to scroll back through a load of irrelevant insults I will provide a brief synopsis;

I criticised the vids that Roger originally posted.

Roger posited that I had to be an expert video editor in order to be able to criticise the vids.

I said not to be a dick and asked Roger if someone needed to have run a professional football club before they were allowed to criticise Stewart Donald's running of SAFC.

Roger responded with a tirade of abuse, that has continued unabated since.

Now Roger, for one last time - are you going to respond to my question?

Your continual avoidance can only be taken to mean one thing - that your invective stems not from my rather mild insult, but from anger that the comparison entirely undermines your point about required video editing skills

I apologise to you all of you bystanders for my part in beginning and maintaining this puerile exchange.

Without friends, I have so little fun in my life and have enjoyed locking wits with Roger, even if he was only half equipped for the exchanges.

threats i don't do threats i do facts, i have asked him to stop with his petty little ****,he wont,plan 2 ,have you read the article from the start, i tried to be nice to him for around 6 posts yet he still kept trying to drag the post off track, the idiot is a physco, lets see what you say if he latches onto you,there are a lot of **** heads in this world unfortunately not all have the balls to stand up to them, i do and will

 

I have thought long and hard before responding here. Normally I would have just walked away.

Then I was threatened with physical violence in a most insidious manner. I can't just walk away and give an impression that the threat worked.

Threats of physical violence are not something I have had directed at me in the 23 years that I have been using social media.

I have not even had so much as a warning over on the SMB.

On this forum I had a spat with one member, but there were no exchanges consisting purely of insults. In that case we both stayed on subject. I acknowledged my erroneous supposition and offered my sincere apologies, which were accepted with the utmost grace.

Should I do similar in this case? My answer this time is 'No, not entirely.'

I apologise unreservedly for the insults that I traded.

I will not apologise for maintaining that a viewer does not need experience of making a programme in order to criticise programmes. Nor do I apologise for repeatedly asking whether a fan has to have experience running a football club in order to criticise the running of the club. These two issues are both related to the original post of the fan video of fans criticising the actions of the owner of SAFC and such expertise was the root accusation levelled at me.

Finally coming back the threat of violence.

I've traded punches when playing rugby, but never flinched. However, that was part and parcel of being a forward and you could see it coming.

That isn't what I was threatened with though, but being jumped out of the blue by an unknown assailant.

I have registered this on-line threat with my local police force, but asked them not to take any action as this is just an insurance against finding myself in receipt of a 'para greeting card'.

I shouldn't have had to do this and wouldn't have were it not for the follow up statement that he dealt in facts not threats - made to someone who stood up and said that threats had no place on this forum.

I ask now for an apology for the threat.

 

What a ****ing weird thread. As for the video I was bored after about 3 minutes and thought it was something a bit.....er.....**** so turned it off.

 

I agree, threats have no place on a message board, discussion should never turn into violence. With that in mind, being jumped on by an 18 stone bloke who can kill a man with his bare hand (the other is tied behind his back) is still preferred to having your Homer Simpson socks covered in ****e and then posted back through your letterbox. Imagine trying to report that to plod

Hoi Billy Liar some facts, i was civil to you for 6 replies whilst you were trying to derail the thread. i only responded with insults after you called me a dick. you never apologised to me so it must have been to the mods.as you say you won't apologise for your actions, but have sucked up to the mods because that's the type of creep you are,it's been days now but you just can't leave it alone and your back, trying your internet bullying to get me to comply to your will. go **** yourself.
Since joining this site in Sept 2019 you have started 1 thread to creep around Smug, and the most posts you have made have been in this thread strange.I will not be pushed around by a two faced cretin who refuses to allow things to drop no matter how many times he is told,so you do what you know was your plan all along but try and butter it over and put the blame on me so your peers on here may believe your lies, then force me into reciprocation.

 

I always find fan stuff like this no matter who it is or what the club a bit cringy and not in the slightest to my taste. Not for my liking at all but each to their own.

 

You sound like someone who tried to pass P company and cocked it up on the first attempt and ended up in a crappy job in a not very glamorous regiment, surrounded by people who were doing an awesome job in a not very glamorous role and you couldn't even live up to that. I really dont like haters

 

thank you very much, however i had a great life in the regiment, with lots of friends who are well in touch, love my country and would gladly serve again tomorrow, it's strange how your assumptions are so far off base,i take it you have never had a stalker like Drag who always wants to be right and won't let anything drop as requested several times, So in closing i wish you a good day , have put yourself and Drag on ignore and request the mods to close this thread

 

Nope, never felt any desire to spend my life crawling around in the mud. As explained in the jokes post disclaimer, I have nothing against the parachute regiment.

I have spent my entire life working to protect lives, from hospital pathology labs to technical management for multinational pharma companies. My work has positively impacted millions of lives for the better, so I am quite satisfied thank you.
