Is it really up to the government to make that decision for you?
Like you, I had holidays booked plus my family and I have an apartment in Deniar Spain, that won’t get used this year. It really comes down to personal choice as to whether you are prepared to chance it or not.
At the time of the Government opening up travel to certain countries, it seemed like the right thing to do. Let’s be honest all of the experts have advocated its better to be outside and potentially the sun’s UV could have a positive affect on the virus.
I think there was a hope that we could at least get to September without seeing the spikes we are now experiencing. You’ve also got to remember that airlines and holiday companies have applied enormous pressure to resume travel.
I’m critical of the governments handling at the beginning and thought we waited to long to lock down, but I honestly don’t see what they’ve done wrong with the Spain situation. As said earlier, it may seem harsh but I would rather this and then a relaxation of the rules, than the alternative.
