My company is considered a key industry and has been working throughout. That’s not to say they haven’t taken every measure practically to avoid the virus being introduced into the workplace. I never mentioned just returning from holiday destinations, any potential case is dealt with in the same manor even with a negative test.

As has been Previously mentioned, many people who work on the Costas come from inland Spain, far more commuting than In the UK (I use the word commuting loosely) so the potential to spread the virus is not just limited to the two areas you have mentioned.
And the measure being used to make this decision isn’t the death rate, it’s a spike in infection rates?

Understood. Not sure how you then define a potential case - as there us no track and trace system running.

That doesn’t reflect in the current infection rates though does it? As there’s no apparent current issue on the costas, if that changed then the advice could change. As I understand it both areas are on effective lockdown again anyway.

I never said it wasn’t, I said for context, as there’s a narrative being spun imo and possibly a political poke in the ribs, but I’m a cynic. We’re still insisting on 2 weeks quarantine for passengers from the UAE, where the death rate is circa 350 in total.

That’s a fair shout and could be one of the reasons they are adopting the measures they are.

Fair enough to restrict those coming back from the mainland. ****ing Makorca though with half our infection rate and hundreds of miles from the mainland.

I‘m really surprised you have adopted this stance, if I’m honest.
You have been one of the more critical on here when it came to the initial handling, but when they make a decisive decision, thats wrong?
As I have said, there’s nothing to stop the measures being relaxed as more information comes to light and I personally don’t see an issue with that approach. In fact I think it’s an extremely wise decision based on no effective track and trace system.

In the new, post Brexit Britain, only dodgy foreign types will go *abroad. True patriotic Brits will flock to Bournemouth for Vera Lynn themed Corana beach parties.

*for the record, Spain is abroad. Even the bits that look like Blackpool with sun.

I’d happily holiday a bit more in England if it wasn’t full of smug nonces crowing about people holidaying in Spain facing quarantine.

That and you’ve got to spend a fortune to go somewhere not **** and full of **** families.

It’s just another lazy decision imo, with literally no thought process behind it, quarantine from any Spanish soil, even islands a 1000 miles away from Spain, based on 2 localised outbreaks. It’s like Spain insisting on quarantine for all Brits because of Leicester.

No track and trace? I though it was world beating? No? Aren’t we paying for circa 25,000 track and tracers? They haven’t even managed to put in an effective data collection system for incoming travellers, it’s been 6 months ffs. It’s all lip service and posturing, with no actual substance behind it. Standard.

Which smug nonces might that be?
All I’m reading on here is people’s opinion on whether the governments measures are too heavy handed.

I guess that’s where we won’t agree. If I was Spanish and they adopted the same stance because of Leicester, I would fully support that decision.
