Can you class auto-tune as an instrument?

Chuck that in the bin with bagpipes too

There’s loads of post production tools for cleaning up the sound in the mix. I think things like auto-tune and quantise are a bit of a cheat, you are either in tune and in time, or you’re not.

that said, with things like drum machines, MPC’s etc some artists have deliberately bypassed these functions to create some great organic sounds.

you probably know all about him bro, but J Dilla was a pioneer for creating offbeat rhythms with his MPC, simply because he refused to be confined by the quantise function.

Yeah love it homes. Wonderful sound. I’m a big fan of polyrhythms and different time signatures. Makes the western 4/4 timing of rock/pop etc seem pretty boring.

Love Ghananian highlife and afrobeat. These guys were the masters of polyrhythms. I’ll post up some vids later <ok>

Yeah love the sound of a Sitar. Especially combined with Tabla (Indian drums with that rubber pad that makes that ‘bouncing’ sound) <ok>

Didn't George Harrison learn to play the Sitar?

He got pretty immersed in the Indian culture.

I can knock out a mean tune on the hairy harmonica

Not tried it wearing a mask yet.
