I'm sure boxing fans around the world are thrilled with the news that Jinkee Pacquiao's twin sister Janet is pregnant.
Until I stumbled across him today today, I'd never heard of of the super middleweight Edgar Berlanga. But it seems he's beginning to make some noise in the US. Yesterday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, he climbed into the ring for the 14th time in his short, power punching career. In his previous 13 bouts, he'd scored 13 wins, all by KO in the first round. None of his fights had reached the second round. BoxRec has him ranked 15 in the US. This time he meets Eric Moon, a man with 11 wins from 13 bouts.
Watched in silence Cyc. I assume Moon was the one seeing stars. Came out with full intentions - for about 5 secs. Then it was just a matter of time (ie a few more secs)
It's been announced that Mike Tyson will fight Roy Jones Jr in an 8 round exhibition fight on the 12th September. This would have been a fantasy fight for a lot of boxing fans but not now when they're roughly a combined age of 204!
I have to admit to being a fan of Mike Tyson. At his peak, he was brutal. If he could be brought back from the past, he'd slightly out weigh Wilder but have to concede about 2 stone plus to both Joshua and Fury. He'd be down 8 inches in height to J & W and 11 inches to F. and about a foot in reach. But with the way he managed to rush in close and unleash those bombs, it's hard to imagine how any of today's big three could hold him off for too long. He's much too old now though.
A 19/20 year old Mike Tyson would brutalize any of the top 3. The guy was an absolute freak of nature. In all my years watching boxing no one has ever come within a millions miles of his ferocity and damn right scariness. Even at 54 he is the most intimidating human being I have ever seen.
I can't help recalling his fight with Frank Bruno when Bruno wobbled him but didn't know how to finish him. Of course Bruno then fell asleep standing up as he did with Witherspoon. Buster Douglas kod Tyson and I remember someone else ko'ing him but the ref couldn't count and took a very long tome to get to 10, allowing Tyson to stagger up and fight on to ko the other chap. He was definitely fierce but also vulnerable to a a good clean punch. I think against Fury he would have got frustrated and probably bit his dick
You are thinking about the Buster Douglas fight. The ref too way more than a 10 secs count when Douglas hit the canvas.
With the chin Jones has he better very careful Tyson does not clip him by accident. There in an agreement you cant go for a KO. Jones does not have the power to KO Tyson anyways. Jones should be in and out as much as he can with little flurries. It will be scripted though I reckon.
You don't their egos will get the better of them at some point? I think there might come a time when both men will want to test themselves.
