Phew! What does Root do? Hope to get the last couple quickly and go for quick runs and offer the Windies a tempting target to go for, around 240!!

Here we go. Open with Buttler?

Sibley did a great job in the first innings. I wasn't fussed about his strike rate at all. But he shouldn't be opening in this position tonight, with time running out.

PS. Woakes improving on his already massively impressive home average of 23. Just the six wickets between him and Broad...

Good morning for England, piled on the runs, mostly by Stokes (78 no) and declared on 129-3, setting Windies 312 to get in 85 overs.

WI on 23-3 just before lunch.

Fair play to Root for making a game of it , and Fair play to the Windies for not batting for the draw .

In leaving Broad out? I have no problem with it, I don’t think it was because they don’t see him as in our top 3, but because they’re planning ahead for a future without him and Anderson.

If I was an umpire, Stuart Broad's habit of running off celebrating an LBW before appealing would really irk me

You have to start phasing them out IMHO . Slowly but surely .

The people that moan about them starting to be dropped , will be the same people that moan about the selectors not giving youngsters a chance .

Anderson might be in his last English sumer anyway, but as Broad himself says, Jimmy got 130 wickets between when he was Stuart's age and now, and Broad could very well do the same. Absolutely no case for dropping him yet, especially in his current form.
