To be honest I don’t think I’ve tried as many foreign dishes and types of food anywhere else in the world as much as I did in Thailand. I tried something different most days and generally they all looked ****e but tasted good. Apart from the bugs and fried scorpions, they looked and tasted like ****.
I'm paggered mate. This balsam ****e doesn't kill itself. Just had a thought, I'm sure himalayan balsam is edible
Good source of refreshing water in knotweed, when we were kids. Off down the valley all day, pop open a stem and drink the liquid.
I didn't know the jkw is edible. The balsam seeds are edible. Was speaking to a guy last week, said they have a nutty flavour.
It's the balsam that has the water in it. When I'm pulling it or cutting it down I'm forever getting soaked. This is some we were pulling today. The balsam is in the foreground on the floor and the jkw is stood up in the background. A stand about half the size of a football pitch.
Deffo knotweed too mate, that stem is hollow sections (as you will know). Each bit will have bit of water in it.
I'm a volunteer with the local rivers trust. They have just started an invasive non native species programme this year. The trust haven't been able to get started with anything this year with the lockdown so I thought I'd give it a go. Started with myself pulling and cutting then I've managed to organise a weekly group meet up and for the last two weeks myself and my son have been out every morning and pulling. It's difficult to tell but I reckon we've easily taken out hundreds of thousands of plants. I do like a challenge
Yeah that’s what happened mate. Would have made a change from scavenged road kill, fried off with jungle weeds tbf though. What time you planning to pass out?
I’m aware of that mate, times not my enemy, I’ve now got a strong coffee to wash down my chicken bap.
Fair play to you mate. You obviously enjoy walking in the area you live in, so nice touch to put something back for **** all.
