Transform is a bit strong but will defo add another cog to the Jose machine

KWP....you can have for a bag of Wotsits

Ironically he's looked best for us when he's been driving forward with the ball to support the attack. Mourinho won't be allowing that.

Aurier has been one of our attacking focal points. Only TAA has assisted more from defence...apart from that, spot on Libby. Don’t let the pre programmed Jose opinion get the better of the facts like

Aarons reminds me a bit of a raw Walker. Being part of a **** defence isn't really solely on him though, same as when Robertson was at Hull and look at him now. Bassong was a decent signing back in the day for us as well and he got relegated with Newcastle.

Hojbjerg just seems like a lesser version of Wanyama, Saints fans don't even seem too fussed at losing him either. Hope I'm wrong but I think there's a good few better out there.

yeah I agree, he can have the raw potential regardless of who he plays for. I just don’t see anything that stands out apart from pace. He doesn’t seem to have that menacing edge that is vital in full backs nowadays but a step up might improve him also. I just think most of our fan base is obsessed with bang average English potential due to some HG quota stuff..it seems to take precedent in their choices.

Reckon Wanyama was surrounded by better Saints players than Hojbjerg is
Let’s see what happens

That pretty much was Walker until Poch turned him into a quality FB. If a player has that raw pace and a manager is able to coach them into being more technical and smarter with/ without the ball they can become a proper decent player. We've done pretty well over the years buying English talent too so wouldn't necessarily say the fanbase is obsessed with bang average talent.

Yeah he probably was but all of those Southampton players were very good back then, it's why they got raped by Pool for most of them, lol. He's definitely better than what we've got though, so on that front he should be a decent enough signing, just think we could do better. Arsenal keep being linked with Partey... That's a game changer if they get him.

I really doubt Hojbjerg is better than what you have, he is bang average at best.

We only have young Oli Skipp as the natural defensive mid so he's better by default until Skipp (hopefully) improves with time and experience.

Though your comment is definitely part of the reason why I ain't overly keen on the guy.

He's not really a natural centre mid though, more box to box.

Yeah he most certainly isn't that lol.

Has most tackles/interceptions/break ups of play in the league this year though (can’t remember which one).

He would improve someone like Everton who he has also been linked with, their midfield is a joke. But if the rumoured £30m or whatever is true then surely can get better for the money.

He’ll probably end up at City anyway as Pep supposedly loves him

yeah but with robertson, even at hull he took on players and you could see him driving past players. I see none of that with max and he looks lightweight to boot. If i had to liken him to a full back it would be lee young pyo. speedy but weak and okay at everything else but not outstanding

Kane and Alli 2 years ago would have cost any team £300m+ for the pair.

You can probably get them both for £125m now. Alli is a £15m player.

Don't really agree with the comparison but LYP was a little gangster, so I'd take that. One of the players who were pretty key in the Jol era.

Walked past him on the final day of last season outside WHL as it goes. Had a little entourage with him as well as a camera guy. Think he met Son before the game and was doing some documentary IIRC.

Oh i loved lyp representing and the korean certainly had the energy and passion to play (old sonnys not bad and park ji sung) but lets face it, he was a player destined for mid table and one good for your side but wouldnt be good enough to challenge for top 4

I remember a couple of seasons ago when Mark Hughes was in charge I watched us lose to Chelsea in an FA Cup Semi in a box at Wembley. As I was leaving I saw David Luiz leaving the corporate area with his entourage and he looked like the coolest **** ever. Balling through with his mates laughing and joking, high fiving everyone, running to his limo.

Doesn’t make him a good player, but I changed my opinion of him that day.
