I hope you're right. But he was really, by precedent, supposed to have done a cabinet investigation into the Cumings' affair, but simply said no and that the PPS was too busy. Didn't he threaten to do away with The Supreme Court when it found against him over proroguing Parliament? With an 80 seat majority he thinks he's fireproof. There’s an ‘exceptional circumstance’ clause in all OJEU (public) tender processes (which will be Find Tender or something from next year).

Public sector contracting is a minefield and 9/10 times the method for scoring tenders can be manipulated to award the job to whoever you want to get it anyway. That is the EU have no jurisdiction over whether your priority should be cost, experience, green policy, corporate or ethical responsibility etc. If somebody conducted a deep dive into awarded high value contracts for MOD etc I’m sure there’ll be at least a tenuous link back to somebody in the government on many occasions.
