Plus surely at least they suspected that asymptomatic carriers could pass on the virus but even so they did know that patients spread the virus before symptoms showed as warnings of this problem had already come from the far east .

as i said even if that was true it still wouldn't make his statement anything but nonsense as an explanation which supposedly showed he wasn't dumping on the care sector .
Strangely i keep getting a flashback to him when he first became PM standing outside 10 Downing Street saying he had a plan for the Care sector ready to go . Must have got lost by the removal men .

However, it never came to using, let alone filling up the Nightingales, which meant they can't excuse themselves away from the decision that was made. If they had filled up, they could have said, well the young had to come before the old, but that excuse became void, now Dom will be trying to focus on shifting the blame, before an inquiry, hence Boris' remarks.

whilst agreeing with thrust of this i'm not convinced it was the Govts decision but probably that of senior NHS staff though presumably signed off by Hancock ..

Only the Tories set up PHE in 2013. It’s hardly a reach to suggest that they fed their instructions through PHE, as they did.

My take was and still is the major instruction was don't let the NHS get overwhelmed .The measures were taken to enable that and if the decision was made by Hancock , PHE or the NHS that decision would have been the same .

Obviously is was, but equally they knew when making that call that they didn’t have the testing capability to ensure all of the elderly patients released back into care homes were tested. They also knew the care home sector was desperately short of adequate PPE. It’s merely semantics, the blame lies firmly with the Govt, trying to even partially shift it elsewhere, especially to clinicians is absolute bollocks.

There was a report, not sure how credible, saying that it could have actually been lying dormant in ageing drainage systems in Italy and Spain, before being taken back to China?

Keep sucking what up? Firstly this is in America, secondly, in case it’s escaped your notice many of us pick apart the utterances and claims from our actual Govt on a daily basis regarding this crisis.

Lastly, what the **** do you think this actually proves? It’s a doctor whining about having a couple of complaints made against him for comments he’s made, which the state board are investigating, that’s literally it.
