If we're unwilling to pay £53m for Werner at 24, we're never going to pay £58m or more for a 29yr old.
Frankly after watching yesterday its not the defence that needs all the work. Lack of depth at full back means we have to play Milner or Gomez out of position, and the drop in standard between the front 3 and their cover is too large. Its the reason we should have maned up and got Werner.
Yeah, Koulibaly is never going to happen. **** all chance we've put a bid in. Tbh I'm bored of the constant links to big money players even after it being widely reported/known about why we didn't attempt to sign Werner.
