I have switched off that game at half time. There is just no atmosphere watching if and sorry but the canned crowd sound is just spooky rather than adding to anything. The camera angles are pretty few given there are about 50 less cameras filming it. Not for me I'm afraid and if that was all I could get football wise then I might just give it up. I stand by my opinion that you cannot have sport at this sort of level with nobody there. It isn't meant to be played in a sterile atmosphere and has to have a live audience. No blame to the players as they cannot do anything about that.
I believe some games are being shown free to air on the Sky One channel which you probably have access to and possibly free on Amazon TV too.
Still too much talk about Ryan Lowe going to Bolton and £200,000 compensation...If he is staying why doesn't he say so...and stop all the talk ?
Cheltenham...0-3...Northampton...F/T.....aggregate...2-3.....Northampton play Exeter at Wembley. Wow...what happened there....Cheltenham after the first leg had one foot in the final. They had the best defence in the league and the first time they have conceded more than one goal since before Christmas.
Wasn't expecting that. Cheltenham were a good side when I saw them down here and they have been doing well all season. Form at the right time is everything it seems.
Neil Warnock at 71yrs has been made Middlesborough manager....he's got 8 games to keep them up......I think this is his 16th club as manager....just doesn't know when to stop......long way from his Cornwall home.
Seeing Colchester's keeper last night reminds me what an important role it is. Often overlooked by comparison to strikers and play-makers.
A keeper makes 20 world class saves and lets one dolly drop in and gets slaughtered. A striker has 20 goes at scoring and makes a bollox of them all but tucks away one off his arse in the 90th minute and he's a hero. There's justice for you.
Just been looking at pictures of the beach at Bournemouth....looks like an ants nest of humanity teeming about.....what hope of we got without a vaccine being developed and damn fast. I'm rather glad that Premier Inns had to cancel our booking for July 12th.
If you look at the Herald website today then there are pictures of the Barbican and the large numbers out drinking in the sunshine both today and this evening. It looks like any Friday night or Saturday night of the year when nothing else is happening in the World. Mostly it's young people so lets be honest even if it isn't recommended it is hardly surprising is it. They have been stuck in for a long time in young persons terms and have been told for ages they are the least vulnerable whilst all the talk this week has been about relaxing the rules. The sun is shinningand in their world all is well.
My daughter met her friend on the Hoe on Tuesday to celebrate her friend's birthday in a small group. She says it was relatively quiet up there when I dropped her off at 2.30 but by 4:30, the Barbican was heaving. Now you can say that's a case of those people who complained that the parks were too busy with others to allow THEM to do what THEY wanted, but despite her parentage, she's a sensible girl and she was too uncomfortable to stay in that crowd. Imagine the first Friday or Saturday when the pubs are open.....................
A case of ..."We're all doomed Mr Mainwaring"....those under 30 only take on board... that if THEY get it... it will not be life threatening....and could be relatively mild or even that they might hardly notice that they have had Covid-19....BUT...how many older generation will they brush past during their time enjoying themselves and pass it on to the more vulnerable during the next two weeks If we had to revert to another back to square one lockdown....we would need the army on every street corner fully armed to make people go indoors. My first question to those that would catch Covid-19 during a second wave....would be ...have you subjected yourself to a Bournemouth beach type situation or have you been on a demonstration pulling down statues of anyone who in the last 2000 years looked at anyone who might have had contact with a slave owner....even if it was only lending them a cup of sugar because the shops are closed.
You can't win can you......with the drop in air pollution...through aircraft and road use being very low during the shut-down...it seems that air pollution actually help to deflect the UV rays of the sun....so at present UV rays are more dangerous.....and with the temperature being over 90f today...you need plenty of sun blocker and shade today.
It's not just young people who do what THEY want as you put it plym it's a whole load of people in general. I have seen many older people ignoring advice in shops and the like. If they want something off a shelf then by god they are going to go for it no matter who is in the way. Young people notoriously don't do the right thing and especially when they have had a couple of pints first. I didn't hrown rubbish about when I was young but I did a fair few things that weren't recommended. Lets be honest the first thought you have given "an opportunity" with a willing young lady is definitely not "do I want to be a father or catch something nasty". This generation despite all the education they have and information they have do not have one ounce of sense more than previous. Don't forget you are immortal at 20.
There seems to be some belief that Covid-19 doesn't like the heat and humidity and survives better in colder climates. It does seem that cooler and refrigerated areas breeds the virus easier....and that has been proven in meat processing factories....especially in Germany which is worrying....because we thought the Germans had sussed out how to control this virus. But regarding heat we see that California and Florida who do have hot summers are nowhere near being in control of the virus. Brazil and other South American countries are not in control of the virus....we must remember being southern hemisphere countries they are in their so called winter period. At the end of the day we must admit that we are still learning about Covid-19....it is still well under a year since the first out break and no one really understands it fully.....it's as if the virus has an intelligence and keeps adapting to the situation it finds itself in.....if we don't soon find a vaccine to protect the world from it....could this be a doomsday scenario that will finally wipe humanity off the face of the earth and allow the apes etc to take over.....who knows.
We seem to be turning into a nation of Lemmings just wanting to destroy the world we live in. Yesterday Bournemouth and also Ogmore-by-the-Sea (S Wales) plus other places not mentioned here....were so overcrowded that....illegal parking, excessive waste, anti-social behaviour, grid-lock on roads, prohibited over night camping and fighting took place....with public toilets still closed....I dread to think what the sea water quality was like..........locals were complaining that people were using there front gardens as toilets. How can councils keep toilets closed yet allow thousands of people to turn up in their resorts. The Covid-19...R number will surely go back over one and lockdown will be back....with army machine gun posts on every road junction (I hope).....if these people catch the virus...tough luck...it's all the law abiding ones they pass it on to that I'm sorry for......Lemmings the lot of them.
