I'm asking if this young girl grows up to have a prejudicial feeling towards those with darker skins do you think that it could be as a result of her own experiences or would it be because social influence. You seemed adamant earlier that people couldn't have formed their own stereotypes based upon individual experiences.
Serious question, what have you offered? I'm pretty sure this is nothing more than entertainment for you. You've been arguing for a week that racism is bad .... ... yeah we know, we heard you the first time.
I didn't. In this young girl's case there is every chance that she may feel intimidated by any group of black men for the rest of her life. I accept that She may also at some point think - Most people just want to get on with their lives - Some people allow the issue of race to dominate their lives - There are a minority of idiots who could threaten or attack me again - I am like most people and will be cautious "You seemed adamant earlier that people couldn't have formed their own stereotypes based upon individual experiences." I agreed that they were and went on to say there are other factors involved
You've based your general opinion of every group/race/religion/movement/party on your experience. We all do and you're no different. Believing you're better read, than other people on here, shows an ignorance and an arrogance that leads people to think you're a bellend. Posting daft smilies and irrelevany pictures of slaves makes some people think you're spending your days, on here, because you have nothing better to do. Sorry to be blunt.
I thought you liked to debate and discuss, you seem to readily engage in many threads with your opinions. I thought we've moved past 'racism is bad' - we even went back to statues and Penshaw Monument. In that regard you made a strong and valid case - this is a commemoration to a reet twat paid for by a bigger twat who exploited coal miners. Fair nuff. Yes ~I am enjoying this! In the case of the above, it occurred to me that there are other reasons to leave statues alone aside their historical connection and we should just stop there and everybody needs to calm down a bit. I have 'offered' quite a lot of opinions open to discussion
The difference is I state clear honest opinions that I stand by. You post endless vagaries and then gifs & smilies when you don't have an answer ... ... or post slave photos then refuse to stand by the meaning and refuse to discuss it. If all that fails you use the Internet warriors last resort, 'grammatical nuances' and sarcasm. The reason people like you carry on is because you attack anyone with clearly stated opinions but only ever post 'ifs, buts and maybes' yourself to give you an easy way to worm out of things. I've seen it all a thousand times before so please excuse me if I'm blunt ... ... it's really tedious as other people have pointed out.
I believe you are capable of sensible debate without these weird diversions such as telling me what I believe. I hardly care what people think of me with the people calling out childish names etc its a forum ffs ... as for the other thing you mentioned, I have posted my opinion @Ozzymac
And there's the rub ... ... total hypocrisy in one sentence. I'll leave you to the 'Shameless lecture on why racism isn't nice'.
Do you have an argument? By the way, you don't have to reply or address any issue, but I'm not engaging in this name calling drivel
Having disagreed with smug on a few things, I have some sympathy for how you feel because I think a few of us have been given this treatment, but I don't think it's serving much purpose you two going back and forth like this now. (hat tip to all of you who pointed this out to me a few months ago, I should have listened then!)
Its not that it is futile - and I;m avoiding slinging mud @Smug in Boots and genuinely attempting engage in debate. Quite a number here have engaged in debate, meanwhile I get trolled by Smug and its plain and obvious that there is nothing but a tirade of pointless diversions that take us away from debate. And yes I am pointing that out too Smug wrecks debate with endless drivel At times it is quite nasty, even vicious and its easy to sidestep And its all boring bollocks and I take no pleasure in it, except he keeps trolling my posts with his handbag, it feels a bit like going round someone house for a chat while their new jack russell puppy is relentlessly tearing away at your shoes This used to be a great board with some fantastic posters and to be fair, there have been some excellent posts by quite a number of different posters over the past week. I was rather hoping to get back in touch with the likes of @Teesdarlomakem or @Commachio and the guy with the big chicken as his avatar.
This thread has become seriously derailed. So let me help get it back on track. Unless you are from some very special Anointed stock, somewhere in your family's history you would have suffered some form of servitude, occupation or barbarity. You don't have to feel guilty for who you are today, you just need to be a good citizen. But if you are overwhelmed with your own guilt, I suggest kneeling at every opportunity & hanging around towns in large groups while in the middle of a pandemic. That should cleanse you in the eye of the beholder. There. Feel better now.
Exactly what I was saying earlier. The working class suffered because of slavery, and we have absolutely no reason to feel guilty.
My Dads family were coal miners. The only time they didn't have 'black face' was when they had a day off. I dare any of these liberal tossers to talk to him about white privilege.
If you could show me ONE piece of evidence where there's a placard or banner which I'm sure you can ,with the quote Black and white lives matter I'll offer something for discussion. Now go and search Mr Fish. You're kidding no f*****.
That is f******disgusting, black and white lives matter....... reetio. I would quite happily pull the lever to stretch their necks myself. Wouldn't want paying either.
