An experienced Pro, but I am not sure if this is the way forward for us.

I’d rather we would find a player who is at least 10 years younger, thus faster and able to develop.

I, and many others, said the same about Derry. Depends on the deal really. If he is on suitably low ££ and Warburton sees him as a needed player / coach to help lead the dressing room, then who knows, could be a shrewd signing. Especially if one or two of our current older pros follow Pugh out the door. Then again, could be a classic QPR c.2012 signing, paying over the odds for a player long past their prime. Or just a rumour!

We're being strongly linked to Forest's Ben Watson whose deal is up, at 35 he's past his best but has featured in all their matches this season...

He's had a number of chances with us before but more than happy to go elsewhere whenever he had the opportunity to do so. Can't honestly say I blamed him then but not sure that the same factors are not present at the moment. He can make bucket loads more money elsewhere and doubt he is ready or devoted enough to want to play for us given it's not going to be one last big payday for him.

They can piss right off, one for future & sooner rather than later
One of the good things about our current management team now is they have made it a place for youngsters to consider it a place to grow and get into the first team. Hopefully Dieng will feel the same way - as long as he has confidence in the ‘keeper coaches.

WLS reporting Cameron's contract has been extended another year, and he will likely be staying. Good news I think.

Bit disappointing that he won't extend his contract to see out the rest of the season, especially given the huge show of faith from the club in him despite injuries. Shows that the relationship with the club, for him, was fundamentally transactional. No particular judgement here as I'm sure that's the case for many and I might make a similar decision in his shoes, but I hope there's no rush to induct him into the Forever R's etc. Not that he would care of course, but then isn't that the point?

Was about to say the same. Masterson and Barbet as a consistent pairing sounds good to me.
9 games that they do not get injured or suspended.....or we have Cameron, Rangel, Wallace or Gubbins...or possibly Ball...or Eze or BOS

Shame about Hall - a good and committed player (and one I always liked) but we probably didn't get great value for wages with all his injuries.

The club played this correctly and fairly IMO.

Next captain? Wallace, Barbet and Cameron all contenders I'd think

Hall going gives Masterson a good chance to progress alongside Barbet

I would be tempeted to make Eze our next Captain as part of a contract extension (with a high release clause).

The plan would then be to sell in one year (unless we get promotion).

Eze could then develop as a genuine leader on the pitch.

Wishful thinking? Probably, but what is wrong with that. It would be a great personal message to Eze as well as to all the other youth players.

I really think that Eze would rise to the occassion and mature even faster.
