Has anyone suggested shortening the 6 week holiday and getting schools going mid August to make up for lost time though?

Getting near to politics, it seems like some don't want the kids to go back to school. I heard that something like 2 million kids have done little or no school work for 3 months. Over 100,000 lap tops have been given out to those who claimed they couldn't do on-line schooling due to lack of a computer.

In some poorer underdeveloped East European countries they put schooling on the telly, simple really and cheap.
