The idiot caught pissing next to a police memorial pleaded guilty today and got 14 or 16 days in jail (can’t remember what they said on the radio news) I hope the same if not more severe punishment will be dealt to those defacing other statues and buildings with BLM graffiti

Not sure they are equivalent crimes.

The defacing of property creates more lasting damage which needs considerable effort and cost to restore.

Urinating on something is one of the highest forms of disrespect. Its just disgusting!

So which is worse?

Defacing is much worse, he got a month, reduced because he handed himself in, them who didn't hand themselves in should get 1 month plus.

No and no!

Winnie Mandela and the Mandela Football Club, a vigilante group of thugs and criminals was disgraceful. Nelson Mandela was enraged by this setup and by the murder you have noted. It ultimately led to their divorce and estrangement.

Nelson Mandela was a professional, lawyer, at a time when it was extremely difficult for a black person to become anything in South Africa.

You are wrong. Nelson Mandela refused to give up violence, noting ANC violence was in reaction to SAPS and SADF violence. He was right. After decades of peaceful protest being met with a heavy handed government response, the ANC saw no other path. He repeatedly refused being let out jail - alone (would not leave his colleagues behind) or in exchange for a renunciation of violence as the only means left after all the people and organizations had been banned.

I mean this genuinely, I am happy to exchange ideas so we can all learn from each other.

I am confident that you will agree with me this is not a personal issue between us.
Yes and yes, winnie and her security guards were ANC so the ANC killed the 14 year old kid. Nelson Mandela wrote to the government asking for peace and free elections, the priminister accepted. There was peace right up to the elections, he might not have made an official announcement, but he did offer and enact peace as he agreed.

You can twist and turn the conversation to make you right if you need that. No problem.

Winnie Mandela lost the plot and went off the tracks. It was not the ANC as a whole. Just as one police officer is not the whole department.

Ultimately Nelson Mandela gave up violence once the ANC had been unbanned, their leaders released and other demands met, yes.

Just as one police officer is not the whole department ? You should see what someone has been writing about the police on your account for the last 2 weeks. Not the police departments fault isn't the impression you gave me.

Ok, so there is an equivalency between Winston Churchill and Adolph Hitler?

Is that your point?
Think a bit more ay, but since you want to bring Hitler into it, during the battle of the bulge, ss troops killed a load of American prisoners, a week or so later, Americans used that as justification for killing surrendering Germans, or American Black looters using George Floyd to justify killing a black OAP who asked them to stop looting.
Everyone kills Everyone else because one rogue justification leads to another.

To be clear, in the USA, based on my experience and observation:
1) There are many bad cops,
2) There are many cops with alt right wing loyalties and tendencies,
3) These bad cops, and/or with those loyalties, are not a significant minority, as asserted by the president,
4) Not all cops are bad and/or racist,
5) There is a systemic problem which is pervasive across police departments of not dealing with bad cops,
6) Bad cops need to be fired before they kill people unnecessarily.

Please let me know what I have not addressed so you can be very clear on where I stand.

So now you are providing us with a sociology lesson rather than your opinion on what is right and wrong? I mistakenly thought you meant if everyone does something then that's ok.

It's not the UK, your **** not ours. I don't believe we have anywhere near the same problem.

Yes we do. It's just that our police rarely kill someone.

I once had 8 police officers surrounding our house as neighbours. A lot of the time, when they were talking amongst themselves, my jaw was on the floor. You wouldn't believe what goes on. I think that they simply forgot that I wasn't a cop as we were always in the same company.

TBF, a lot of it has been stomped on. But you pick up lots of pieces of info that come in handy. An example: If you're speeding, & you think a cop car has been following you for a long while, slow right down. It's a game - they probably know of a road type change coming up, so, for instance, if you're on a motorway which becomes a dual carriage way, then narrows down to a two-way road, they know they can get you on 3 speeding charges, 1 for each road type. If they don't stop you immediately, there's a bloody good reason for it. It's fun for them. They have a very boring job. And yes, speed cops do play snooker cars. It's not a myth.

Another thing that's very, very true is that if you're a cop who's a Freemason, you're practically untouchable.

Well if ours kill three, and the USA kill over a thousand, to me that says we don't but everyone to their own opinion.

Hate to say it, but we'll done Marcus Rashford, didn't think you had a hope in hell of success, and we'll done Boris, but don't expect any praise from English hating Jocks. ;)

Yes well done Markus and well done Boris for an ill-judged policy followed by an embarrassing u turn
It wasn't an ill judged policy, it was how it's always been, they have jobs or benefits to feed the kids in normal years, but this year is different with covid, so Boris has changed it, we'll done Boris, haters will always hate, but fook em Boris. ;)
