Demands blocked at every turn, the council even got blocked trying to put a second plaque on it detailing his part in the slave trade. Which sort of kills the history angle, as they literally got stopped from sharing it on the thing.

Yeah it was criminal damage dumping it in the sea.

Obviously we'll never know but it'd have been interesting to see if this would have ever happened had that plaque been added.
