You expunge history and things get forgotten, bad thing to do.
Removing a statue from a city street location isn’t expunging history, it’s simply moving a piece that was originally designed to commemorate their lives. The events of this week have done more to make people aware of the Bristol based slave trade than that statue ever did.
 
So how much history do we want to try and erase?
How is placing something to remember events erasing history?

How much did you know about what these people did before the last few days?
A statue with a name on and no context offers no history. All it does is tell you they were once important and that you still have to look up to them.
