seems it's been blocked. a cop chasing someone, crook got away over garage rooftops...Cop stopped in a field for a ****, took his boot and sock off, wiped his arse..Pants up, never knew he was been filmed.
They're going to replace it with a statue of one of his slaves so everyone can still remember the history
Removing a statue from a city street location isn’t expunging history, it’s simply moving a piece that was originally designed to commemorate their lives. The events of this week have done more to make people aware of the Bristol based slave trade than that statue ever did.
How is placing something to remember events erasing history? How much did you know about what these people did before the last few days? A statue with a name on and no context offers no history. All it does is tell you they were once important and that you still have to look up to them.
I think we should also remember during this worldwide protest - In history it wasn't white people solely responsible for some of the worst atrocities against blacks in the world. https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2019-09-11/uganda-idi-amin-museum http://www.xinhuanet.com/english/2019-10/09/c_138459023.htm
